Find Your Happy Place

Hi and TGIF,

It's been a wild week here in San Diego county, especially here in the north county with wild fires. I'm very blessed and fortunate to live very close to the ocean, so we were not in danger. However, we have 5 different friends who had to evacuate. None of their homes were damaged, so again, very fortunate. My thoughts go out to those who did lose homes. I just can't imagine how horrible it must be!

Well, on to my post. I made this card last Sunday after I saw Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 219. I've used some older stamps and papers. I wanted something to color, and had a good time with it.

This is also a good card to play along in Linda's Sweet Home Recipe Swap challenge, which is to use a house on our cards. Who wouldn't like to spend an afternoon in a pink treehouse?

Supplies
Stamps: Up A Tree set by Taylored Expressions and Woodgrain Background by Stampin' Up
Paper: SU card stock and DSP
Ink: memento tuxedo black, Copics,  SU Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive
Other: SU punches, SU candy dot, twine and dimensionals

I hope your weekend is a good one. Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Fiesta - Let's Party!

Hello all,

I hope you're having a relaxing Saturday. I'm house/dog sitting this weekend for a friend. She has two of the cutest Maltese puppies you've ever seen! Since, I'm not at home, I can't do any stamping today, but I still have a card to share.

I made this last weekend for my "other half." His birthday is on the 30th and we'll be in NYC for the week, as I mentioned in a previous post. He prefers simple cards and I think he'll like this "chalkboard" technique card. If nothing else, he'll like the margaritas. LOL.

I stamped the images on black card stock with VersaMark ink and embossed with SU white EP. I colored the margaritas and the letters in the sentiment with Copics. The "salt" is SU chunky silver glitter. I used my white gel pen to add the doodles on the die cut image.

Here is the inside: A toast to the birthday boy.

Supplies:
Stamps: Cheers to You set by Stampin' Up and Papel Picado Banners set by Avery Elle Stamps
Paper: SU red, green and black card stock
Ink: VersaMark and Copics
Other: SU dies, white gel pen, SU chunky glitter, glue, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Have a good evening and thanks,
Colleen

Thinking of You

Hi all,

I hope you had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend. I certainly am. I had a chance to  do some stamping on Tuesday evening and since I had just received my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients/Stamp of the Month kit in the mail, I thought I'd see what I could come up with. I used the Mojo Monday sketch #344 for the card layout. And, since I've used pink as a focal color along with flowers, I'm adding it to Stacey's Curtain Call Challenge: Pretty In Pink.

Supplies:
Stamps: Bloom and Grow set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: TE pink and black card stock and Pebbles Garden Party patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and Hero Arts Shadow Ink pads
Other: SU tag punch, SU small corner rounder punch, Fiskars large corner rounder punch, pink rhinestones, small clothes pin, rhinestone flower from TE KI kit, dimensionals

Have a great weekend! Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Hippo Birdie To You

Hello and TGIF,

A good friend of mine is having a birthday later this month and I created this card for her. I had the best time putting it together! I used the super cute Lawn Fawn set, "Hippo Birdie To You," and made a tri-fold card.

This is the front panel:

This is the middle panel:

This is the third panel:

Life Is What You Make It

Hello all,

Wow, I haven't stamped in two months! I think I just lost interest for awhile after years of doing paper crafts. I'm happy to say that I've reclaimed my "mojo" and made 10 cards this past weekend. It truly felt pretty good to get back to my stamps and inks.

Today's card is for a good friend who has received her M.D. degree. There will be a graduation ceremony next month in NYC and we will be flying back to attend. We are SO proud of her.

The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 218.

I colored most of the image with my Copics. Her graduation gown is paper pieced.

Supplies
Stamps: Pure Innocence Graduation Girl set and Clearly Sentimental Pearls of Wisdom set both by My Favorite Things
Paper:  SU Pool Party and Whisper White card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock, We R Memories Chalkboard pattern papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and Copics
Other: Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX dies, sewing machine, enamel dots, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

It's good to be back. Thanks for looking in today,
Colleen
