Cat-puccino?

Happy Monday,

Plans changed and I didn't have to drive to LA early this morning. I still have to go, but I won't leave until mid-day. This gives me a chance to post one more card that I made this past Saturday. This card uses the Freshly Made Sketch for this week. The stamp set is another super fun coffee themed set from Ellen Hutson by Julie Ebersole.

For the background, I embossed the card front with the SU Dynamic Woodgrain EF, sponged some Tranquil Tide ink over with a blending tool, and then covered the bottom few inches with some DSP. I pulled out a SU paper doily and used the same Tranquil Tide ink to color it. It's cut in half and layered to the DSP, my idea of a little doily on the table in which to place my cup of Cat-paccino.

The cup is stamped with memento black and colored with Copics and cut out using the corresponding set die.

Here's the inside of the card:

This is truly a cute set.

Have an awesome day, and thanks!
Colleen

Hello Friend and Much Love; Fun with Flowers for the Paper Players

Hello Friends,

For my second post today, I have two cards that I made using Ann's sketch for the Paper Players Challenge. Since I didn't get to play with my friend, LeAnne's monochromatic theme last week because of my work travels, I've decided to incorporate the monochromatic theme this week. Kind of a two for one thing, LOL.

This first card uses a new stamp and die set from Ellen Hutson called Mondo Daisy. It was super fun to color with Copics, and it went together super quickly. The papers are all SU.

For the second card, which was actually the first one I made, I've used a new stamp and die set from Concord & 9th called Pretty Poppy. The paper's are all SU again and I've used SU Blends on this one instead of Copics.

These pinks are super bright!

I hope everyone has a good work week. Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen

You're the Cat's MEOW!

Hi to all,

I hope you are have a relaxing weekend. I'm happy to be home. It's been almost non-stop travel for me these past few months. Unfortunately, it's not stopping anytime soon. I'm back on the road for work tomorrow for another two weeks. Luckily, it's travel by car to the northern part of Los Angeles, but I'll stay in the area as it's just too much driving each day if I stayed at home.

Since we were gone last weekend too, I haven't had a chance to get into my stamp room for way too long. I always feel really "rusty" when that happens and I struggle putting even the simplest of cards together. This one was no exception! I don't even want to tell you how long I "hemmed and hawed" over it's design. And, it's a sketch! YIKES! I wanted this to be CAS, but alas, I couldn't leave it be.

The sketch comes from this week's CAS(E) This Sketch! I stamped the kitty outline in Memento black and used a light yellow Copic to color her in. The stamp set has two stamps that add the fur and I've used one with gold and orange ink to make the stripes. There is a coordinating SU punch for the kitty and I used dimensionals to adhere her to the card.

I've kept the inside super simple. Just more DSP and another sentiment from the stamp set.

Today I plan on doing a few more card challenges. I hope your plans are fun ones too.
Thanks for stopping by my blog,
Colleen

XOXO

Hi again,

I did get one more card made this afternoon. This one for one of my favorite weekly challenges, The Paper Players. This week Laurie is hostess with a color challenge consisting of grays and pink. I used it to make a cute Valentine's Day card for one of my nephews. Even though he's now 20, he will like it. When he was a little guy, he'd take the cards I made him to bed, LOL. My sister would sneak in and rescue them to save.

I've used Concord and 9th stamp sets again.

I've used all SU inks in the colors in the banner. The plaid is made with Basic Gray. It looks black in the photo, probably because I did use my Misti to layer several layers. The tiny hearts in the background are made with another turnabout set.

Here is the inside.

This card is already in the mailbox.

Thanks all and have a great work week,
Colleen

You Are My Sunshine & Best Friend

Hi and happy Sunday to all,

I'm home this weekend, Yay! And, I've been stamping. Yay x 2!

Last night I was playing around with the Concord & 9th Marbled Turnabout set.  Using the colors in this week's Color Throwdown Challenge for inspiration I made two cards.  The colors this week are red, orange and yellow.

Each card uses different shades of the three main colors, which makes them look quite different. I've made them into Valentine's themed cards.

On the first card I've used the Hello Sunshine Turnabout die too. Super fun!

On card number two the layout is very similar, but on this card I've used some SU heart dies.

I'm loving creating with the Concord & 9th turnabout sets. If you haven't tried them. you should. They are kind of addicting!

I hope you have a great Sunday. I'm going to try and make cards for a few more challenges this afternoon. I do have to pack, again, because I'm working out of town, again, Monday through Thursday.

Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen

So Happy To Have You In My Life

Hi again,

One more quick post before we head out to the SB party this afternoon. I wanted to get a card made for this week's Paper Players Challenge. I was so disappointed last week because I didn't have time to play along with the sketch challenge. That darn work just kept interfering with my stamping plans last week, so this week, I made it a priority to get a card made. Joanne is hostess with a fun theme this week, and I kept my card super simple using some new SU goodies. I'm also using this week's CAS(E) this Sketch! for my card's layout.

I've used new DSP from the Occasions Mini and a new stamp set called Amazing Life. The image is stamped using Lovely Lipstick and cut out using a stitched oval die and layered using dimensionals. For embellishment, I added an enamel heart for the dot over the i. These pretty SU papers do most of the work on this one.

I've kept the inside super simple too.

The sentiment is also in the stamp set and I used a scrap of the heart DSP at the bottom.

Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Happy Birthday

Hello to all, and Happy Super Bowl Sunday (if you're into that),

Can't say that FB is something that I watch, but later we are going to our friends for a little SB party. It also happens to be his birthday today, so of course, I needed to make a card.

Using inspiration from this week's Freshly Made Sketch, and the color theme at Seize the Birthday, here is my card.

For the three diagonal lines in the sketch, I used some patterned paper, matching the lines with the same paper on the card base. I added the happy birthday in Real Red and some SU candy dots for embellishment. The stamps are from a variety of sets, all are listed below in the Supplies section.

Here is the inside.

I'm off to Denver for the week bright and early tomorrow morning. The weather app keeps changing. Now it's saying snow on Wednesday, but yesterday snow wasn't in the forecast. It's currently warmer in Denver than it is here in San Diego. We've had some wild, rainy weather the last few days here.

Have a great day!
Thanks,
Colleen
