ERR MAH GERD

Hello,

Some before dinner stamping today. I combined a couple of sets from two different companies to make today's card. The coffee cups are from Paper Smooches and the background images are from a Concord & 9th Turnabout set.

I started by stamping the cups randomly on a white panel with Gina K amalgam ink. Then I used the corresponding set die and cut 6 masks from some Gina K Masking paper. (Love this stuff. It works way better than post-it notes). After masking, I used the two turnabout stamps in the Holly Berry Turnabout set to make the background. Next, I removed the masks and colored the cups with Copies. The sentiments are from the same Paper Smooches set and they crack me up. They are heat embossed with white EP.

Of course, this will be posted to both the 30 Day Coloring Challenge where it's day 7 and to the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I think today is it's last day. (sad face).

I kept the inside pretty simple using the same coffee cup and more images from the Paper Smooches set.

Thanks all and have a great evening and a very pleasant Friday,
Colleen

Thinking Of You

Hi all,

More after dinner stamping tonight. I'm still trying to keep up with Kathy Rac's 30 Day Coloring Challenge. It's early in the month, but so far I'm doing a fairly good job. This is day 6 of the challenge.

This is a recent SSS monthly kit set. I've colored it using the new Color Throwdown Challenge colors of orange, brown and moss. In addition, SSS Wednesday Challenge theme is "Thinking of You."

I've used my Copic markers to color the images. I'm thinking after looking at the finished card that the birds should have been colored in greens or browns instead of oranges. They kind of blend in with the flowers. Oh well.

Here is the inside of the card.

Thanks for looking in, and have a good Thursday,
Colleen

Cup of Cozy

Hello stampers,

I'm loving that I've been able to stamp after dinner lately. Keeps my blog busy, LOL.
There are two challenges going on now helping to keep my inspiration going. Its day 4 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge and day 5 of the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and my card is for both.

The stamps are from Concord & 9th and I used some winter themed patterned papers from Echo Park. The sketch comes from this week's Global Design Project.

The cup is stamped on X-Press It Blending card stock and colored with Copies. I did paper piece part of it with the patterned papers. Instead of twine, I used some old SU red/white polka-dot ribbon under the SU Stitched Label dies. I love how bright and fun this turned out. I found some Doodlebug stickers to add for embellishments.

The inside stamps are from Verv.

Hoping to get some more stamping in tonight too. Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen

Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday evening all,

Here's my day 4 card for Kathy Roc's 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I started this card last night after dinner and finished it tonight after dinner. The stamp set is from the October Simon Says Stamp Monthly club. One of the cutest sets they've done lately. I debated with myself on how much detail I was adding, but kept going with it none the less. In the end, the details worked pretty well to create a little fall woods scene. Consequently, this works well for this week's "into the woods" challenge at The Paper Players. I also used the current Sunday Stamps Challenge, where the title is Autumn Richness, for the leaf colors.

The three animals were stamped first using masking technique. Masks were made for all of them and then the trees were stamped over the animals. All images are colored with Copic sketch markers. The leaves are colored in the Sunday Stamps challenge colors and fussy cut out. On the trees, I've used mini dimensionals to adhere them.

Here is the inside of the card. Stamps and dies are from Need & Tangled.

I love coloring time. This was a fun card to make, although not a quick card to make, LOL.

Thanks all,
Colleen

Book Lovers Have the Best Stories

Hey again,

A second post here this afternoon. Here's a card for day 3 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge and also for the Fall / Winger Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I had loads of fun putting this together! Lots of coloring with my Copics, which I love. This color theme comes for the current Color Throwdown Challenge where the colors are teal, olive, rust and navy.

All stamps are from Concord & 9th. The plaid background is made using the Woven Stripes Background stamp colored with SU Old Olive, Night of Navy and Really Rust markers. It's stamped on a card base of Neenah Desert Storm card stock.

The other images are from the C&9th set called Daily Wear. The images are stamped with Gina K amalgam black ink onto X-Press It Blending card, and colored with Copies in this week's colors. After all of the images were colored, I cut the panel using a Die-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle die, which I layered onto mats of Old Olive and Night of Navy card stock. The coffee cup is cut out using the corresponding C&9th die. I decided that I needed some steam coming from the cup and this is done using a small heart die from my collection. It's cut from Really Rust card stock, which I then painted with Wink of Stella and added 3 rhinestones for embellishments.

For the inside of the card, I've used stamps from the C&9th Coffee Blend Turnabout set. The layers are Old Olive and Really Rust card stock.

Thanks for looking,
Colleen

Chai Adore You

Hello peeps,

With my trusty assistant, who was visiting this afternoon and pictured below, I made another card for three challenges. The sketch comes from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch!, the theme from the Fall and Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, and I'm also trying to play along as much as I can with Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

Using some new Paper Smooches stamps, here is my winter tea themed card.

The winter themed patterned papers are from one of the SSS monthly kits from last year, I think. It's from Echo Park. The cup is stamped using Gina K Amalgam ink in black and colored with Copics and paper pieced with the patterned papers. It was cut out with the Paper Smooches set corresponding dies. The sentiment is heat embossed with white EP.

Here is the inside of the card. The cup, saucer and spoon are from Lawn Fawn. The sentiments are from Paper Smooches.

Thanks again all for stopping by,
Colleen

Stamps: Caffeinated and Caffeinated Two sets by Paper Smooches and Love You a Latte by Lawn Fawn

My assistant this afternoon:

Coffee With Friends

Hello and happy Saturday,

For some reason I was awake really early this morning and just could not get back to sleep so I got up around 5:15 am, I think it was. By 8:00 I had two loads of laundry done and also had gone to the grocery store. I guess it's all good because now I have all day to craft, LOL.

I made a couple of cards last night after dinner. Knowing it was day one of Kathy Rac's 30 Day Coloring Challenge, I wanted to make something to play along. Because of work and work travel, I rarely am able to do the entire 30 days. Day one this time is stencils. I have some Concord & 9th Turnabout Stencils that are super fun to use, so I pulled them out and made my cards.

This first one also uses Jen M's sketch from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge, although I elected to go with a standard card rather than square. This is pretty simple. Using the stencil with four different shades of SU green ink pads, I made the background. The focal image is from the new coffee themed turnabout set also by Concord & 9th because I wanted to make a card for the Fall Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop.

For the inside of the card, I used the turnabout stamp from the coffee set along with some of the other set images.

I'll post the second stencil card in another post. I always forget how fun it is to use stencils and how easy now that I have a set of blending brushes.

Have a super great weekend and thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Time To Relax

Hi all,

I hope your weekend is going well. So far, so good for me. I had the usual Saturday chores this morning. I planned an afternoon of stamping and baseball on TV, which has worked out well.

I am so thankful for the many stamping "rock-stars" that are generous in sharing techniques on their blogs for us all to learn from. One of those generous stampers is Sandy Allnock. Before I got out my supplies this afternoon, I was flipping though some blogs that I have bookmarked and came across this post of Sandy's. I watched her video, and a couple others where she uses the same background coloring technique, and decided to give it a try. It was super fun and I think looks pretty cool.

My card design is inspired by this week's Freshly Made Sketch by Narelle. I decided to do a flat card instead of using dies while using this background technique. It's day 16 for Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge and since this card is ALL coloring, I'm posting there too.

For the water background, I used B41, B21 and B000. After the final blending using B000, I used the colorless blender marker to make the bubbles as in Sandy's video. I also used the white Sharpie marker to outline some of the "bubbles".  I colored the seals using N markers on the top seal and W markers on the bottom seal. To help bring out the shell pink shade I used on the seashell, I matted the panel with SU Powder Pink card stock. The card base is SU Coastal Cabana card stock. All of the stamps are from sets from the June 2018 My Monthly Hero collection, including the images used on the inside of the card, where I used the same background technique again.

Thanks to Sandy for sharing with us how to make this fun and easy background.

Have a great Saturday evening and rest of the weekend and thanks for looking in.
Colleen

Cupcakes Make Life Sweet

Hello to all,

My card today is made using the sketch and inspiration photo on the Fusion Card Challenge - Cupcakes. I pulled out an older Taylored Expressions set called For the Love of Cupcakes and made a birthday card.

In fact, most all of the supplies are older. The patterned papers are called Country Drive by Echo Park and I think they were in one of the old TE Key Ingredients kits from several years ago. The oval dies are Spellbinder Nesties. The images are stamped onto TE buttercream card stock and colored with Copics. I fussy cut the cake stand and cupcake and glued them to the oval. Following the inspiration photo, I added a rhinestone flower, also from a Key Ingredients kit, and some enamel dots.

Here is the inside:

I didn't notice until I took the picture that the inside greeting is slightly askew. I will end up re-stamping before using the card. Luckily, there isn't much to re-do, LOL.

And, since there is some coloring involved, I'll post to Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge. It's day 12 today. Unfortunately, work gets in my way of finding time to color on a daily basis, but I'm trying to do most of the days.

Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Mahalo

Hello to all,

I did get to craft away most of the afternoon yesterday, as planned. Here's a card that I made using this week's CAS(E) This Sketch layout. I paired some SU DSP with a stamp set from Avery Elle called Aloha.

I rotated the sketch to the left to accommodate the pineapple paper piece that I wanted to use.  The striped paper is the reverse side of the pineapples, which worked out nicely. The images are stamped on X-Press It Blending card stock with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored with Copics. They are cut out using the corresponding set dies. The sentiment banner is cut from another piece of the DSP using a Die-namics banner die. I'm also posting this card to Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I think it's on Day 10. Unfortunately, I missed a couple days.

Hope your Sunday has been fun and relaxing. I'm finishing up some laundry and we are headed to friends for dinner late this afternoon.

Thanks for looking,
Colleen

Have A Wonderful Day

Hi all,

Here's my colorful card for Day 5 of Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I used another relatively new stamp set from Avery Elle called Hummingbird. Who doesn't LOVE hummingbirds. We have a feeder just outside of our front door and the little ones are certainly entertaining.

The background is watercolored using various blue shaded Distress Inks. The stamped images are stamped onto X-Press It Blending card stock with Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics.

The stitched scalloped frame is also from Avery Elle and the stamped images are cut out using the corresponding Elements dies.

Since I have many friends with birthdays this summer, I made this a birthday card with an appropriate sentiment on the inside.

A quick post tonight. Thanks for looking in!
Colleen

Life's A Beach

Hi and Happy Monday evening,

Ha ha, I made this card using the CAS Colors & Sketches Challenge #274 - The Double, not realizing that the collection had closed. Oh well. I can still count it as my Day 4 of Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge at her Daily Marker blog.  So far, I've used Copics and water coloring. This card uses colored pencils.

I used Going Gray as the card base and small panel and Tangelo Twist card stock for the scallops and horizontal element. The front of the card base is dry embossed with the SU wood panel embossing folder. The stamp set is Avery Elle called Beside the Sea. The beach houses are stamped in Memento tuxedo black on SU Sahara Sand card stock, then colored with Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils matching the challenge colors of gold, orange and gray. The image is then cut out with the corresponding set die.

I turned this into a summer birthday card using a stamp from Gina K Designs.

Thanks for looking in,
Colleen
