It's Your Day

Hello,

Another Sunday evening. I hope you all had a fun and restful weekend. We did a few "weekend chores", a little partying last night, and visited with friends this morning, so all in all, a nice weekend for us. This afternoon, I had some crafty time and used it to make the first of two birthday cards that I need for two very special young people and twins, who turn 18 years old on Halloween.

This week, The Paper Players have a sketch challenge for us, and I used it for my card layout for this masculine birthday card. Along with The Paper Players challenge, I'm posting this to Linda's Catered Crop End Zone Recipe Swap.

Supplies
Stamps: Taylored Expressions Graphic Birthday Greetings
Paper: SU Crumb Cake, Basic black and Champagne Glimmer card stocks and Studio Calico Here and There patterned paper
Ink: VersaMark and SU white craft
Other: SU white embossing powder, Fiskars corner rounder punch, Spellbinders classic circle die, TE Tall & Skinny numbers dies, SU Stars EF, heat tool, the Big Shot, SU sponge dauber, and dimensionals

I hope your work week is a good one. For me, it is a short week as we travel to Chicago on Thursday for a mini vacation in that very fun city.

Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Surf's Up!

Happy Monday afternoon,

I hope the start of the work week was good to you. This weekend I had lots of stumpy time and I needed to make two birthday cards. For this one, I took the theme from the current Catered Crop Summer Lovin' challenge and used the sketch from The Paper Players challenge.

The birthday girl is an avid boogie-boarder and this PI stamp set was just the thing to make her card with. She is stamped with the new Black Licorice MFT Hybrid Ink pad and colored with Copics. I used the Florescent Orange and Green markers to color the wetsuit. After coloring the images, I used some Crystal Effects over the entire boogie board and on the green inserts in the wet suit for a "wet" look.

Here is the inside:

Supplies
Stamps: Pure Innocence "Surfer Girl" set by My Favorite Things
Paper: Taylored Expressions orange and blue card stock, XPress-It Blending white card stock, Echo Park "Paradise Beach" patterned paper
Ink: MFT Hybrid ink pad, Copics, SU Island Indigo and Riding Hood Red
Other: Die-namics Pierced Fishtail Flags &TE Wave border dies, SU flower punch, yellow enamel dot, sewing machine, Crystal Effects, the Big Shot and dimensionals

Find Your Happy Place

Hi and TGIF,

It's been a wild week here in San Diego county, especially here in the north county with wild fires. I'm very blessed and fortunate to live very close to the ocean, so we were not in danger. However, we have 5 different friends who had to evacuate. None of their homes were damaged, so again, very fortunate. My thoughts go out to those who did lose homes. I just can't imagine how horrible it must be!

Well, on to my post. I made this card last Sunday after I saw Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 219. I've used some older stamps and papers. I wanted something to color, and had a good time with it.

This is also a good card to play along in Linda's Sweet Home Recipe Swap challenge, which is to use a house on our cards. Who wouldn't like to spend an afternoon in a pink treehouse?

Supplies
Stamps: Up A Tree set by Taylored Expressions and Woodgrain Background by Stampin' Up
Paper: SU card stock and DSP
Ink: memento tuxedo black, Copics,  SU Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive
Other: SU punches, SU candy dot, twine and dimensionals

I hope your weekend is a good one. Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

I {Heart} This

Hello,

How's the start of your week going? Mine has been super busy, work wise, and that's okay.

I made this card several days ago for Jen's February SFYTT on her Reverse Confetti blog. I used a couple Reverse Confetti sets, including my new favorite RC set called Freida Fox.

Instead of coloring Freida Fox, I stamped her in SU Melon Mambo ink and framed her with a frame cut from Nesties. I love Stacey Schafer's card here, and CASE'd it. After adhering the frame with dimensionals, I added some heart brads. The sentiment is from another RC set called Arrows N Elements. I did color the flower in Freida's hand and added a thick layer of red Stickles on the heart.

In addition to the SFYTT challenge, I'm also entering this card into Linda's Catered Crop Heart Of the Matter Recipe Swap.

Supplies
Stamps: Freida Fox set and Arrows N' Elements set by Reverse Confetti
Paper: SU Soft Sky, Melon Mambo and Whisper White card stocks and Cupcake Love by Little Yellow Bicycle patterned papers
Ink: SU Melon Mambo and Soft Sky ink, Copics
Other: Square Nesties, Doodlebug brads, Stickles, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Happy Hump Day tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen

Happy Birthday

Hi all,

Long time no post. Too much going on in my world these days equals no stamping time. It's a bummer! I did get to stamp a few hours Sunday afternoon. This is one of the cards that I made.

The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #183.  The colors are from the Dynamic Duos #15 challenge. The colors this week are Daffodil Delight and Baja Breeze. And, since I used some dry embossing on the background panel, this works for Linda's Catered Crop Recipe Swap challenge.

The flowers are stamped in Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics. I cut them out and popped them up on the panel with dimensionals, then layered some yellow and gold Stickles in the centers.

Supplies
Stamps: Daisy Bouquet by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White card stock and Doodlebug Flower Box patterned papers
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, SU Baja Breeze and Copics
Other: TE Houndstooth Impressions Plate, TE Floral Cutting Plate, TE medium scalloped border die, TE small tag die, Die-namics Fishtail STAX die, Kaiser blue rhinestones, SU Daffodil Delight stitched ribbon, TE linen thread, yellow and gold Stickles, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals.

Colleen

Amazing, Incredible MOM

Hello,

Mother's Day is only a few weeks away so I thought I'd use Karen's SSSC182 layout to make my mom's card. I love the colors in this bright, flowery paper from Crate Paper and it goes well with this SU Mother's Day set from a few years ago.

I stamped the flower image on SU Very Vanilla and colored it with Copics. The sentiment above was stamped on a piece of the patterned paper with Memento tuxedo black ink. The "MOM" stamp was stamped with Bermuda Bay on Very Vanilla. Each letter is fussy cut and popped up with dimensionals. I added some Star Dust Stickles to the large flower on the image and to the blue parts of the MOM letters. The glitter qualifies this for Linda's Catered Crop Glitter Recipe Swap.

Supplies
Stamps: Messages For Mom set by Stampin' Up
Paper: SU Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Very Vanilla card stock and Crate Paper "Farmhouse" patterned paper
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copics and SU Bermuda Bay
Other: classic circle and scalloped circle Nesties, Star Dust Stickles, Q&Co pearls, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Thanks for looking,
Colleen

Thank You Very Much

Hi and Happy, Happy Friday,

As always, I'm certainly looking forward to the weekend. How about you? I started mine a little on the early side this afternoon. I finished my work project around 3:30 pm. What else to do but stamp, right? We are meeting a friend in a little while at our favorite wine bar then on to dinner. Good wine, good food and the best of friends. There's no better way to end the week!

My S.O. needs a thank you card for one of his admins and asked me to make one. She likes butterflies so I pulled out some new stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions and made this card using this week's Freshly Made sketch.

I decided to make a standard rectangle card instead of a square one. I love this cutting plate from TE. So cute! Instead of a ribbon and bow, I decided to use some twine and a button. The current Catered Crop recipe swap is to use twine on your project. I'm entering my card there as well.

Supplies
Stamps: Make It Memorable set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Whisper White and Tempting Turquoise card stock and Doodlebug Fruit Salad patterned papers
Ink: SU Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise
Other: TE Floral cutting plate, TE Make It Memorable coordinating dies, TE medium scalloped border die, TE medium layering doily, twine, SU white pearls, Doodlebug orange pearls, Pebbles lg crystal pearl, TE button, the Big Shot, and dimensionals.

Have a super fab weekend and thanks for looking,
Colleen

You're Picture Perfect

Hi again,

Today's card is made using the MFTGUESTDT sketch for March. I made it for the new Recipe Swap challenge at Linda's Catered Crop blog. The challenge is called Framed. I thought this cute little PI girl in the picture frame would fit.

My PI girl is stamped on X-Press It Blending card stock and colored with Copics. Her dress and boots are paper pieced. The solid back ground piece was dry embossed with the new SU clouds EF. Some stitching helps to finish the look.

Supplies
Stamps: Pure Innocence Picture Perfect set by My Favorite Things
Paper: SU Pale Plum and Whisper White card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock, and Suga Pop by  Kaiser Crafts patterned papers
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Copics
Other: Classic circle Nesties, SU Clouds embossing folder, green rhinestones, white pearl, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals.

Thanks all,
Colleen
