Coffee With Friends

Hello and happy Saturday,

For some reason I was awake really early this morning and just could not get back to sleep so I got up around 5:15 am, I think it was. By 8:00 I had two loads of laundry done and also had gone to the grocery store. I guess it's all good because now I have all day to craft, LOL.

I made a couple of cards last night after dinner. Knowing it was day one of Kathy Rac's 30 Day Coloring Challenge, I wanted to make something to play along. Because of work and work travel, I rarely am able to do the entire 30 days. Day one this time is stencils. I have some Concord & 9th Turnabout Stencils that are super fun to use, so I pulled them out and made my cards.

This first one also uses Jen M's sketch from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge, although I elected to go with a standard card rather than square. This is pretty simple. Using the stencil with four different shades of SU green ink pads, I made the background. The focal image is from the new coffee themed turnabout set also by Concord & 9th because I wanted to make a card for the Fall Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop.

For the inside of the card, I used the turnabout stamp from the coffee set along with some of the other set images.

I'll post the second stencil card in another post. I always forget how fun it is to use stencils and how easy now that I have a set of blending brushes.

Have a super great weekend and thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Sending You

Hi Peeps,

A very quick post this afternoon as I should be packing. I'm working in Oregon the rest of the week with a very early flight tomorrow morning. But, I couldn't let the final Paper Players Challenge of the year go by without participating.

This week, Claire is the hostess with a bright and fun color theme. Garden Green, Powder Pink, Melon mambo and Lemon Lime Twist. Mr. Personal Chef wanted one more card from me, this one for our letter carrier, so I used Claire's colors to make this.

The coffee cups are from Lil Inkers. They are stamped in the challenge colors. I used the Misti so I could get them nice and even. The background papers are SU Be Merry DSP. I found these little gum drops in the colors and thought they would be fun on the coffee cups.

Here's the inside with the greeting from Lawn Fawn. It fit!

The Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is in full swing too, so I'm posting this coffee themed card there as well.

To all my PP DT friends, Happy Holidays! You had such fun challenges this year. We'll be anxiously awaiting 2018's challenges.

Have a great rest of your week all, and thanks for checking in today,
Colleen

Hello Fall

Happy Tuesday Peeps,

I hope your day was a good one. I spent most of mine doing drawings in Visio for two customer projects. I'm just learning the program and how we are going to be using it in my work, so I'm a bit slow with it right now. It's different, but kind of fun though. Probably because it's some thing different.

On Sunday evening I ran across a cute sketch on the Sunday Sip post at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, and I thought I'd play along. It's a nice, simple sketch with lots of possibilities. I let some Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather patterned papers do much of the work.

The cups of coffee are from the Lawn Fawn set called Love You a Latte. One of my favorite LF sets. They are stamped with Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics. The stitched rectangle is Die-namics. I tied a small bow with two colors of Baker's twine and glued to the corner. Super simple.

For the inside of my card I used a new SU set called Merry Cafe. I love combining stamp sets.

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday afternoon or evening. Thanks for stopping in,
Colleen
