Birthday Wishes - The Paper Players #277

Hi all,

It's Sunday and time for our second Paper Players challenge for 2016. For challenge #277, Claire has a color challenge for us. It's bright and pretty and will help chase those winter gray days away.

This is my niece's birthday card, whose 23rd birthday was on December 26. She loves bright colors, especially pink so this color combo was the perfect choice for her card.

I started with a Melon Mambo card and it's layered with a Tempting Turquoise panel and a stenciled brick wall in TT. The "sidewalk" is a piece of patterned paper. The image stamp set is from Penny Black called Mimi in Paris. Mimi and her friend are stamped in Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics. I fussy cut them and popped them on the sidewalk with dimensionals. The sentiment is from the SU set Endless Birthday Wishes.

I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week. Make sure to stop by to see what the PP Design Team and my fellow Guest Designers have for you today.

Hello. . .

Yes, hello all and Happy Easter Sunday,

I hope you are enjoying the day with family and friends. It's very quiet here today and I'm enjoying some crafty time.

I have a bright and summery card for you today.

The sketch is from the Freshly Made Sketches #180. To get the half circle element, I used a circle die to cut some adhesive-backed masking paper and placed it on my card front. I stamped the flower randomly with Memento black ink then removed the masking paper. After coloring the flowers with Copics, I brushed some Wink of Stella over the yellow centers. The "hello" and bee are stamped in Memento black and I drew in the bee trail with a Copic outliner pen.

Here's the inside of the card:

Supplies
Stamps: Hello Sunshine set by Lawn Fawn and Mimi In Paris set by Penny Black (flower on front)
Paper: XPress-It Blending cardstock and SU Daffodil Delight card s tock
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and Copics, Copic Outliner
Other: Wink Of Stella pen, SU Embossing Folder, TE Small Scalloped Border die, We R Memory Keepers enamel shapes, baker's twine, the Big Shot, foam tape

Enjoy your day and thanks for coming by,
Colleen

Mimi In Paris - Ooo la la

Hi again,
Thought I'd do one more post tonight. I made this card for Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #91 late this afternoon. I bought some new stamps last week and one of the sets was this Penny Black set called Mimi in Paris. The images are super cute and fun to color.

During the same shopping trip I picked up a new 6x6" paper pack from Kaiser Crafts. It's got some bright, springy patterns. This tree back ground with the bright colors made me think "Paris In the Spring".

I stamped Mimi, her little poodle and the tower on TE choice buttercream card stock. Mimi and her poodle are colored with Copics.

Supplies
Stamps: Mimi In Paris set by Penny Black
Paper: SU blue (retired), TE choice buttercream card stocks and Suga Pop by Kaiser Craft patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU soft suede, Copics
Other: Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX dies, sewing machine, the Big Shot and dimensionals

I must go pack now. Thanks all for coming by,
Colleen
