Happy Birthday To You

Happy Hump Day all,

Yesterday was my nephew Ian's 15th birthday. He, like his auntie is a baseball fan. In fact, his birthday present from me is a week of baseball in southern California and Phoenix after school is out in June. It will be an awesome week!

In keeping with the baseball theme, here is the card that I made for him.

The layout comes from Jen's May SFYTT. The stamp is a Kenny K  digi stamp. The paper is from TE's May's KI kit. The image is colored with Copics.

Supplies
Stamps: Pitcher by Kenny K digi
Paper: from TE May KI kit, navy and green card stock and Pebbles Fresh Goods patterned papers
Ink: Copics and SU Night of Navy
Other: SU star brads, sewing machine, Taylored Expressions Reach For the Stars border die, and dimensionals

Thanks for checking in,
Colleen

Hap - {{Bee}} Birthday

Hi all,

Happy Monday evening.

Yesterday, I made a card using Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #52 and one of my favorite TE stamp sets, Garden Party Critters. All of the papers, the flower, button and yellow ribbon are from the TE May KI kit.

The images are colored with Copics and so are the Prima Canvas Resist flowers. These are fun! I added some Star Dust Stickles to the bee's wings for some sparkle. The image was masked, left in the Nestie and sponged with Bashful Blue and Baja Breeze ink. The bees are popped up on dimensionals.

Here's the inside:

I'm entering this card in the current Catered Crop "Rickety Rack Recipe Swap challenge, as well as Taylor's May KI blog hop and challenge.

Supplies

Mother's Day Card

Hi all,

Here is my mom's Mother's Day card. The layout comes from Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 158. Love Karen's sketches!

I used one of the new Taylored Expressions mini stamp sets called Daisy Bouquet. It's stamped on SU water color paper and colored with SU ink pads and my aqua painter. I love how it turned out.

The small circle element is one of the Fancy Buckle dies from TE as well. I thought that this one went well with the paper and the stamp image.

The large circle was supposed to have zig-zag stitching around it. However, I ran out of thread as I was sewing and didn't even realize it. LOL. It did about 5 stitches before running out. I knew that I'd never be able to match the holes after re-threading my machine, so I just removed the stitches and left it as piercings.

Supplies
Stamps: Daisy Bouquet set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Rich Razzleberry, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White and water color card stock and Happy Go Lucky-Lime Twist by My Mind's Eye patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and SU Old Olive, Peach Parfait, Daffodil Delight, Regal Rose, Taken With Teal, Pool Party, and Sahara Sand Classic pads
Other: classic circle and scalloped circle Nesties, TE Fancy Buckle dies, TE teal ribbon, sewing machine, aqua painter, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

I hope your week has started off well. Thanks for looking,
Colleen

Good Friends, Good Cheer

Good Monday morning all,

I'm back today with a card for Jen's Deconstructed Sketch challenge #51. This is my good friend Vicki's birthday card. We also work together, and frequently get together for happy hour on Fridays. I'm sure she will love the card.

The stamp set is one of the newer A la Modes sets called Martinis On Me. So Cute! The image is colored with Copics the fussy cut and popped up on the circle with dimensionals. I added a layer of Crystal Effects over the glass to make it look more "glassy." Lots of stitching, a few orange rhinestones, green polka-dot ribbon and a Die-namics border die complete the layout.

Supplies
Stamps: a la Mode Martinis On Me set by My Favorite Things
Paper: SU peach parfait and very vanilla card stock and Happier pattern paper by My Mind's Eye
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and Copics
Other: classic circle Nesties, Die-namics border die, Kaiser orange rhinestones, TE green polka-dot ribbon, sewing machine, Crystal Effects, the Big Shot and dimensionals

Here are the Copics I used:

Thanks for coming by,

Thank You

Hi and happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there,

I'm finally back to my blog! Oh how I've missed stamping and posting these past few weeks. First, I was gone. Traveling for work. I did have some of my supplies with me, but I just didn't take the time to do much. After returning home, we had a pipe break in our house which caused too much chaos. Stuff everywhere! I'm happy to say that little episode is behind us for the most part. We still have some floor replacement to get done, but the walls are back to normal. I'm thankful, as it could have been so much worse than it was.

For my card today, I have a Thank You card for my BFF Alison. She sent me a sweet package of goodies this past week. The layout is this week's MFTWSC71, I used the Big Greetings and PI Magician sets for my card.

Here is a look at the inside:

The little magician is colored with Copics and paper pieced.

Supplies:
Stamps: Big Greetings and PI Magician sets by My Favorite Things. The sentiment is from the Amazing and Magical VIP collection.
Paper: Stampin' Up card sock Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla. Pattern papers are On the Sunny Side by My Mind's Eye
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU Calypso Coral and Copics
Other: Prima Donna Petals and File Tab Die-namics dies, SU Calypso Coral ribbon, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Here are the Copics I used:

I hope your week is a really good one. Thanks for stopping in today,
Colleen

A Princess and Her Knight

Hi all,

It's such an exciting day for me as I'm joining the TESC Sketch Crew this week for sketch #157. It's SO fun to receive an e mail saying that you've won a sketch challenge, and since I love my Taylored Expressions stamps, the one I received from Taylor telling me I'd won Top Chef honors for TESC155 is extra special.

I left home a week ago Thursday, as I've been working in Northern California. That meant I had to pack some of my supplies and stamps so I could put together my card on the road. It's kind of "interesting" not having all one's supplies at hand, but I managed to bring what I needed for this card, even though I had no idea what the sketch would look like.

All of the papers, the tag, the ribbon and the blue paper flower are from the TE April Key Ingredients kit. My princess is colored with Copics and part of her dress is paper pieced. (Bodice and insert of skirt) After coloring her crown and slippers, I coated them with a layer of Star Dust Stickles. (All princesses should have sparkly crowns.) After coloring, she was fussy cut and popped up on the dies with dimensionals.

I stamped the her castle on the PP, very lightly, before adding the sketch elements over it. I like how it adds to the theme of the card. For the finishing touches, I added blue rhinestones to the hearts on the TE die and added some stitching around the edges. The sentiment is stamped on a kraft tag from the KI kit and one of the paper Pretties flowers was added with a dimensional.

And, for the inside of my card;
NO princess should be without her Knight in Shinning Armor:

Supplies
Stamps: Moka Princess Penelope, Moka Sir Henry and Royal Digs from Taylored Expressions
Papers: All from April's TE Key Ingredients, Buttercream and Lagoon card stock and Simple Stories Fabulous patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copics and Color Box Chalk blue and dark pink ink pads
Other: Classic circle Nesties, TE layering doily die - medium, MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flag dies, Star Dust Stickles, Kaiser rhinestones, pink stitched ribbon, kraft tag and blue paper pretties flower all from April KI kit, SU linen thread, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a "royally fabulous" weekend.

These Boots Were Made For Splashing

Hi all,
I've had little to no stamping time for way too long and it looks like that trend will be continuing for another couple weeks. I'm traveling for work during the week and on weekends, we have some FUN travel planned. Tomorrow we are heading down to Santa Fe, NM for a long weekend and that's going to be really fun.

I did get one card made last Sunday evening. The sketch is last week's MFTWSC66. (I know that #67 came out today, so now I'm behind.) I hadn't had a chance to ink up the WTG Puddle Jumper set yet and the circle image worked perfectly for this layout.

Everything is paper pieced except the sidewalk, her skirt and her legs. Those parts are colored with Copics. I layered some Crystal Effects over the puddle to make it look wet. (This idea came from many of the DT samples when the set was released. Always great inspiration!) I've added pink rhinestone brads for the raincoat buttons. Love the way the bling looks here. The use of brads is the current recipe challenge at Linda's Catered Crop blog.

Supplies
Stamps: WTG Puddle Jumper set by My Favorite Things
Paper: Stampin' Up Regal Rose and Whisper White card stock and SU DSP, retired
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copics and SU Chocolate Chip
Other: SU pink rhinestone brads, classic circle Nesties, medium Monarch Border Die-namic, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

I'll be back with some new posts in a couple weeks. Until then, I'll still be checking out many of your blogs on my IPAD. Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen
