Hi all,

The Crazy 4 Challenge has a fun sketch this week, so I thought I'd play along. This is another birthday card that I needed this week. (lots of friends with birthdays in June).

Surf's Up!

Happy Monday afternoon,

I hope the start of the work week was good to you. This weekend I had lots of stumpy time and I needed to make two birthday cards. For this one, I took the theme from the current Catered Crop Summer Lovin' challenge and used the sketch from The Paper Players challenge.

The birthday girl is an avid boogie-boarder and this PI stamp set was just the thing to make her card with. She is stamped with the new Black Licorice MFT Hybrid Ink pad and colored with Copics. I used the Florescent Orange and Green markers to color the wetsuit. After coloring the images, I used some Crystal Effects over the entire boogie board and on the green inserts in the wet suit for a "wet" look.

Here is the inside:

Supplies
Stamps: Pure Innocence "Surfer Girl" set by My Favorite Things
Paper: Taylored Expressions orange and blue card stock, XPress-It Blending white card stock, Echo Park "Paradise Beach" patterned paper
Ink: MFT Hybrid ink pad, Copics, SU Island Indigo and Riding Hood Red
Other: Die-namics Pierced Fishtail Flags &TE Wave border dies, SU flower punch, yellow enamel dot, sewing machine, Crystal Effects, the Big Shot and dimensionals

Sending Big Hugs

Hello,

Late night stamping resulted in a card for today's Sweet Sunday Sketch # 224. I saw this week's sketch after Karen posted it to FB yesterday evening and decided to use it to make a birthday card for a friend who lives far away on the east coast in Mass.

I received my latest order from MFT on Thursday with this cute new PI set.

I stamped her with my new Black Licorice Hybrid ink pad, (love the way it stamps, by the way) then colored her with Copics. I paper pieced her dress as you can see. I added pink Stickles to the heart in her hair and Crystal Effects to her shoes to make them look like patent leather. Also in my new order, the Die-namics Pierced Fishtail Flags dies. Of course, I needed to use them! I cut the image out with my square Nesties. I didn't want to cover up her legs with the horizontal element, so I just added the enamel hearts and dots. The sentiment from the stamp set is stamped with the Hybrid ink.

Here's the inside:

The birthday sentiment is from a SU set.

Supplies
Stamps: Pure Innocence "Sending Big Hugs" by My Favorite Things and "Happiest Birthday Wishes" by Stampin' Up
Paper: Taylored Expressions Choice Snow white and XPress-It Blending card stocks and Simple Stories "Vintage Bliss" patterned papers
Ink: MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink, Copics
Other: Die-namics Pierced Fishtail Flags and Pierced circle dies, classic square Nesties, Taylored Expressions Scalloped border die, Dear Lizzy enamel hearts and dots, pink Stickles, Crystal Effects, the Big Shot, dimensionals

I hope you have a fabulous Sunday. We are headed to the beach later this afternoon for another friend's birthday celebration. Should be fun, fun, fun!

Hey!, Hello

Happy Hump Day all,

I'm back in my craft room again after a long absence, and happy to be back. Nothing wrong, just work and a few vacations. We spent a week in NYC for a friends graduation from medical school. We got to see her receive her M.D. degree. So, so proud of her. She graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors!

I saw the Paper Players challenge on Sunday and decided I'd like to play along. Jaydee has a color challenge this week of red, white and blue. Of course, this is perfect to make some 4th of July cards, but I didn't do that, LOL. The sketch is this week's Mojo Monday layout.
