Fun With the Wreath Builder System & Many Cards

Hello and Happy New Years Eve to all,

I watched this video by JMI a few weeks ago and loved the look of the finished stamped cards. Earlier this week, I decided to see if I could create some of these cards worthy of Jennifer's. They turned out beautifully, if I do say so myself, so I sent them off as a gift set to my bestie and she received them yesterday.

These were super fun to make, and if you haven't tried the Gina K Designs Wreath Builder System, I highly recommend it as a great card making tool. All of the cards with flowers use the Wreath Builder system. The leaf cards do not. A stamp positioning tool like a Misti is essential for using the Wreath Builder system, fyi.

All of the stamps used for these cards are from Gina K Designs. For the most part, so are the card stocks and inks, although, the white craft ink is from Hero Arts and I used a couple of Stampin' Up card stock colors.

The die cut sentiments and the embellishments really make these cards pop! Die cut sentiments are from GKD, SSS and Concord & 9th. The pearl and rhinestone embellishments are from my stash. I just picked things that worked well with each card.

Thanks for looking in. I want to wish everyone a very happy and healthy 2023!
Colleen

Hello Friend

 Hi to all,

The Color Hues Challenge has one of my favorite color combinations for their challenge colors this time. Pink and green. Just look to nature for inspiration!

I've pulled out a couple of my Gina K Designs stamp sets and the Wreath Builder System to make this card.

Using the GKD mini set called Painted Blooms and the Wreath Builder system, I stamped the wreath then cut it out using MFT circle dies. (my GKD circle dies are not large enough.) I heat embossed the greeting from the same stamp set using white EP, doing three applications of embossing ink and powder to get a nice smooth and raised image. This is trimmed just slightly larger than the sentiment and popped up with foam squares.

I made the wood grain panel using Gina's method with Soft Stone ink. It's cut using some of the dies from ML8. The background panels are cut with ML1 and the white panel is stenciled using Fresh Asparagus ink. The card base is Bubblegum Pink, and I added large green pearls and some tiny pink gems to the center of the Bubblegum flowers for embellishments.

On the inside, I used the same layout as on the front. The greeting stamps are from the GKD Best Flowers stamps set.

I think this is one of my favorite cards that I've made recently. Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Wishing You the Best Birthday Ever

 Hi all,

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was a relaxing and fun one.

I did some stamping late yesterday afternoon. Last week Gina, from Gina K Designs did one of her weekly Stamp and Chat Live segments on her Wreath Builder and corresponding stamp sets. I've had the Wreath Builder for quite awhile and have posted some cards that I've made, but I had not done the layout that she demonstrated last week. I thought I'd give it a try. I made four cards. Each pair uses the same stamps and placement within the Wreath Builder, but the final card is pretty different. If you have not used the Wreath Builder, it's super fun playing with different images, layouts and colors. It's also rather relaxing.

These cards work with Jaydee's Paper Player's Challenge where this week the theme is Spring Flowers.

Here are the first pair of cards. The first card uses the card stock panel as a rectangle. This one is cut to 3.75 by 5.0 inches. The second card starts with a square panel, 3.75 by 3.75 inches. The square panel is cut in half diagonally to make the A2 size card.

And here's the second pair of cards. Made in exactly the same way, just different stamped images and colors.

I like the way these turned out and as I said, the Wreath Builder is very fun to play with.

Enjoy the rest of the week. After a few days of not so busy work, I'm starting a new project tomorrow out in the Riverside area of Southern California. It's not too far, about 1.25 hours driving each way.

Thanks for looking in,

Colleen

I've Been Thinking About You

Happy Friday Peeps,

Here's a sweet little 4.5 inch square card that I made last evening full of fall colors. I pulled out a couple of small Gina K stamp sets and the Wreath Builder system, which is always so FUN. The September Monthly Mix Challenge is Fall and that's what I had in my mind when designing this one.

The images I used to make the wreath are from the freebie set from Gina's last release. I stamped the larger flower in Honey Mustard ink, the leaf images are stamped in Faded Brick, Fresh Asparagus and Jelly Bean Green (one of my fave green shades). The greeting on the outside of the card is from the Doodle Greetings set.

Here on the inside, the greeting is from the Hearty Greetings stamp set and is stamped in Honey Mustard ink. The small heart is from the same set and it is stamped in Faded Brick.

I hope you have a nice Friday. I'm thinking about all of my fellow western state neighbors who are in the path of these horrible wild fires, especially all of those who have lost their homes. I'm live on the coast in northern San Diego county and we've had smoky skies due to a fire in our east county area as well as smoke drifting down from the norther CA fires. Every year seems to be worse than the year before. We are all so grateful for the brave fire fighters on the fire lines.

Thanks for looking in,

Colleen

Hello

Happy Hump Day Peeps,

Last night after dinner I was playing around with the Gina K Designs Wreath Builder system. I usually don't like what I make as I really need more practice, but last night my my attempts were good enough to share. I made two cards, one using one of the sets designed to use with the Wreath Builder system and the other, just a regular stamp set by Gina K.

No challenges, just stamping  for fun. Here we go:

This card made with the spring Wreath Builder stamp set.

This card made with the new Petals and Wings stamp set.

Thanks for looking,
Colleen
