I love crafting, especially rubber stamping. Most weekends I can be found surrounded by paper, rubber stamps and ink.

Hello

 Happy Thursday Peeps,

I'm still in Northern CA visiting my mom and we are headed into a week of very hot days. Especially this weekend with predictions of 113 to 116 degrees, Although, I guess I should be thankful that I'm not in the Southwest.

Since I am still at my mom's I had to improvise for Ann's color challenge for this week's Paper Players. I have mostly retired SU card stocks and ink colors here. I pulled out a very light, clear pink and a cranberry that look to be very close to the actual current SU colors. I do have Lost Lagoon here.

I used some recent Spellbinders dies for this card, both from the June clubs. The background and stitched scallop shells are from the Stitched Shell Card Front die and the octopus is from the Dancin' Octopus die set. The square under the octopus is embossed with the Spellbinders Seashell EF. The sign is heat embossed with white EP on black card stock. I added SU clear sparkly gems to the stitched scallop shells.

Here is the inside of the card. I'll be sending this to a friend whose birthday is towards the end of July.

Enjoy your day and stay COOL!
Colleen

Just Wanted To Stop and Say Hello & Happy Birthday

 Hello and Happy Monday!

Karen has a fun fold Bridge card design for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I haven't made one of these in quite awhile. I made two cards and had tons of fun putting them together.

For both cards, I made the basic folded card and then glued the stenciled and embossed panels on the insides and outside flaps.

The background on this first card is made using Pretty Pink Posh layering stencils. The bridge sentiment dies are from Gina K Designs and the balloon is from Pretty Pink Posh.

The background for this second card is made with the Spellbinders Splish-Splash embossing folder and the die cut images are from the Large Die of the Month set for June. Not going to lie, it took me a few minutes to figure out the waves! After running the card stock through to emboss it, I used a teal ink cube and lightly rubbed it over the raised surface to ad the color. The sentiment is from Honey Bee.

On both cards I added a tent folded card glued to the back to have a place for "inside greetings" and personal messages.

Enjoy the week, and thanks for stopping by.
Colleen

Thinking Of You

 Hello,

The June Gina K Designs release had some vintage themed stamps and dies and I thought this pretty butterfly image would work well on a mini-slimline card for the current Sunday Stamps Challenge.

I cut a piece of newspaper with the stitched die from the GKD Master Layouts 7 die set and cut a mat from navy card stock using the layering die. After cutting the news print, I crumpled it up then flattened it before using a blending brush to add color.

The color scheme comes from the current Color Hues Challenge. The colors this time are merlot and navy.

Enjoy your Thursday. It's going to be a bit cooler here in northern California for the next three days with temps in the  high 90s instead of the triple digits we had all last week.

Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Wishing You A Beautiful Day

Hello all,

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm enjoying time with my mom for about a month in Northern California. It's hot here! The past two days up to 109 degrees, today it's only 106, LOL. Mostly, we stay in during the afternoons, although she likes to play bingo at the Senior center in town, which is Tuesday during the day and Thursday in the evenings. I was here last week and decided to go on Thursday evening and I won a bingo. That was fun.

Today I have my card for LeAnne's Beachy Theme for this week's Paper Players Challenge. I have several beach related stamps and stencils and luckily I brought some with me. I ended up making two cards. (Two is better than one after all.) One card uses an SU Bundle from a few years ago that I combined with a GKD sun stencil to make a mini slimline card. The other card uses Gina K Designs stamps and dies, also from a few years ago. Both are birthday cards.

Wishing you all a beautiful day! Thanks for checking in,
Colleen
