Eat, Drink and Be Thankful

 Hello,

Happy Monday evening to all. I hope the beginning of the week was good for you.

I have a card to share that I made yesterday evening. It fits for two challenges that started yesterday. For the Paper Players Challenge, Laurie has a Thanksgiving theme this week and the Sunday Stamps Challenge is a color challenge with the perfect fit fall colors.

My card is a carousel of Thanksgiving pies. I don't know why this popped into my mind, but I thought of it and it worked pretty well. Using two Lawn Fawn sets and the Gina K Wreath Builder system, including the corresponding Fall/Autumn Gina K stamp set, here is my wreath of pies.

The plaid in the background I made with the C&9th Holiday Plaid stamp set by just randomly stamping images on the diagonal. Not a bad outcome.

Since the sentiment is about eating and DRINKING, I added the drinking image on the inside using the Lawn Fawn Thanks a Latte set tea cup. The sentiment is from the Gina K Autumn Wreath Builder stamp set.

So, what do you think of my "Pie Carousel?" Too much fun!

Thanks for stopping by,

Colleen

Birthday Wishes

 Good Evening peeps,

The Color Hues challenge #4 is orange and blue. I pulled out some newish Gina K flower stamps and a stencil and used blending brushes to color them. I've had short periods of time to stamp this week, so this card took a few days to complete.

I started with the Harvest Flourish stencil and blended Peach Bellini and Sweet Mango ink over a white panel. This and a mat were cut using the Master Layouts 1 die set.

The flowers and leaves are stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white EP, colored using various Gina K blue and orange inks with blending brushes, cut out with the set dies and layered on the stenciled panel.

For the inside, I stamped the small flower including the stem and leaves in Black Onyx ink and colored them with Copics. The greeting is  from the Gina K Bitty Blossoms set.

TGIF tomorrow!

Thanks for looking,
Colleen

Love You

Hello,

Some weekend stamping results. This card I made for the Gina K August Monthly Challenge. Mindy Eggen is the August hostess and her theme is "White Space."

Using two Gina K stamp sets, Gina K paper and Ink, a Gina K stencil, and the Gina K Wreath Builder system, I made this card.

I stamped the hands image first in the middle of a 4 x 4 inch panel of layering weight card stock using my Misti and Gina K slate ink. Next I placed the panel into the Wreath Builder template, and using the new circle guide, placed the large heart where it would work best to make a circle around the hands. After the circle was completed, I used the smaller heart in the same way stamping with a lighter shade of pink. I placed the panel back into the Misti to stamp the sentiment using Black Amalgam ink. After folding and cutting the card base, I used the Gina K fan stencil with the same pink inks so the color would just peak around the stamped image once glued to the card base. For embellishments, I used some Pretty Pink Posh gems in pinks and white.

Here is the inside of the card using more images from the same two stamp sets.

This card has lots of details along with sufficient white space for Mindy's challenge. Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen

Hello and Ride The Wave - Two Cards, Two Challenges

Happy Sunday peeps,

I rarely post multiple challenge cards in one blog post, but that's what I'm doing this morning. I'm headed out of town early tomorrow morning and since I had the cards completed, I figure should get them out.

You'll notice that I must have been in an ocean color mood yesterday.

This first card is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. The flower stamp and die are from Pink Fresh Studio and the Hello die is Stampin' Up. The card stock and inks are from Gina K Designs.

I used one of the new nested background stamps where the pieces can be removed so that each line can be stamped in a different color. These stamps are quite fun. I trimmed the stamped panel down to 4.0x5.25 inches and and mounted it onto the dark teal card base. For the triangles at the top and bottom, I simply cut a piece of the the dark teal to the same dimensions and then cut it corner to corner.

The hello die is cut from the pool card stock 3 times and glued together then glued to the front of the card with Connect glue. I added a layer of SU Shimmery  Crystal Effects for some shine and added three enamel dots for embellishment.

The current  CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge sketch is very interesting. After spending some time looking through my stamp sets, here's what I came up with for it. This is my rendition of "surfing the tube." The wave and surfer dies, and the sentiment stamp are from Hero Arts. The background wave cover plate is from Avery Elle. I cut the cover plate from white, and from Tranquil Teal and Tranquil Sea card stock. The card base is Sea Glass. The surfing girl and her surfboard are cut from bright pink card stock with a layer of Shimmery Crystal Effects over top. The card stock is Gina K and the pink ink is Rina K Electro-pop Poppin' Pink.

Finally a card that I made yesterday evening that isn't for any challenge. Just because I had the stamp sets on my table. Stamps and dies are Hero Arts and inks from Gina K and Hero Arts. The sand is made using blending brushes. I tried to be arty and make cloud shadows on the sand using a darker ink to blend. The sky is blended with a very light blue. The clouds are stamped with Hero Sky Blue ink for the first stamp and the layering stamp is stamped with Hero Unicorn Craft ink. They came out pretty nicely.

I'll be packing the rest of the day. I'm off to see my mom and my sister for a few weeks.

Thanks for looking in and have a nice Sunday,
Colleen

Happy Birthday and You Are Awesome

Hi peeps,

I have been playing with the Gina K Wreath Builder system and some new Gina K stamps. Both cards here use the new Embroidered Flowers set. This is a fun set with many flower stamp images. No challenges with these, just adding some cards to my stash, and having some stamping fun.

First up is a card made with the smaller rose image. I used a light pink and darker coral shade together before stamping. I really like how this one turned out using the Wreath Builder template. The roses are spaced perfectly. The inks are from Altenew.

For the second card, I stamped the daisy flowers using the Wreath Builder template, then when it was completed, I cut the panel in half in order to make a regular A2 card size. This is the same stamp set, although the sentiment is from another Gina K set. The inks on this card are Hero and Gina K cubes.

The Wreath Builder is super fun to create with. Gina has several videos that help figure it all out.

Thanks for looking in,
Colleen
