Celebrate

 Hi Peeps,

I purchased  some of the new release stencils, dies and stamp sets from the latest Pretty Pink Posh release. They arrived on Monday so of course, I wanted to use some of them right away.

These ice cream cone layering stencils are super cute! I made these all chocolate ice cream with chocolate sprinkles. The large Celebrate and shadow dies worked  perfectly for this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.  Since I didn't want to cover up the ice cream cones, I used vellum under the die for the larger diagonal element.

For the inside of the card I used greetings from the GKD mini Birthday set.

Thanks for checking in, and happy stamping!
Colleen

Sending You Love & HUGS

 Hello peeps,

I'm in Northern California again visiting my mom. I drove up last Thursday and will most likely stay until after her 87th birthday, which is on March 14. I loaded up my car with stamping supplies so I could occupy some of my time while she goes off to her bingo games at the senior center.

Included in the supplies are card sock, misc. ink cubes, and some other supplies that are "extra" at home, so I plan on leaving them here for my sister and I to use when either of us are visiting.

I made this card yesterday afternoon for this week's Paper Players Challenge. Claire's got CAS week with a theme of "Get Well."

I placed an order with Pretty Pink Posh a few days before leaving home and had the order shipped to mom's house and it came on Monday. Of course, I had to ink up some of the stamps ASAP.

All of the stamped images are PPP except the bottom sentiment, which is from a Gina K Designs get well set. I stamped the small images on the front of the card base using Distress Lost Shadow ink using an acrylic block. For the die cut HUGS image, I ink blended light carnation pink, lemon yellow, applemint green, and turquoise sea on white card stock, blending one into the next, then stamped the large HUGS image using a dark gray ink. I cut this out using the corresponding die, then cut it twice more from white card stock to layer.

Both greetings are stamped on black card stock and heat embossed with white EP, and I used some sentiment dies with rounded ends from Altenew to cut them out.

Here's the inside. This greeting is from another Gina K Designs stamp set.

With the wacky weather going on this week, it's supposed to snow here the next two days. It's rare to get snow here, but it does happen.

Enjoy the rest of the week, and thanks for looking in.

Birthday Wishes

 Hi all,

I hope you had a fab weekend. We spent some time with friends, which is always fun and I had plenty of time in my craft room too.

I made this card yesterday afternoon using Linda's sketch for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge and Ann's color challenge for the Paper Players. I took a wee bit of creative license with Linda's sketch with three flowers instead of two, but the card balance needed three.

The background is made using a new set of layering stencils from Pink Fresh Studio. Because I wanted to use the Crumb Cake challenge color as card stock, (in this case Kraft card stock),  I first stenciled each layer with white ink then repeated using the remaining three colors in the challenge, slightly off-set.

The large flowers are from another Pink Fresh Studio set that includes stamps, stencils, dies and a hot foil plate. I stamped the flowers on kraft card stock using kraft ink, then used the layering stencils in the same manner as the background inking first with white then with each of the challenge colors.

The horizontal panel is made by cutting strips of the card stock and gluing them on an angle to a 2 x 4.5  inch piece of paper. This is stamped and heat embossed with white EP and popped up with foam tape.

Finally, I used some Trinity white pearls for embellishments in the centers of some of the background flowers and in all of the focal flowers.

Here is the inside of the card. The stamps are from a new birthday set from Gina K Designs.

Have a great week, and happy crafting!
Colleen

Hello Friend

 TGIF Peeps,

One of our favorite wineries from Paso Robles has opened a location in the Temecula wine region of southern California. This weekend is the "grand opening" so we are heading to Temecula this afternoon to check it out. That will be a good start to the weekend.

My card today was made using the Photo Inspiration card at TIME OUT Challenge and inspiration from the card Gina made on her Crafter-noon FaceBook Live show yesterday.

To make this card I started by cutting a 4 inch square using the stitched die in the ML 3 die set. I then used some 1/8 inch Masking Magic strips to make a grid dividing the square into 8 equal pieces. Then I cut a large circle in a sheet of Masking Magic and used the negative space to mask off a circle. Using GKD inks and small blending brushes I ink blended a rainbow around the circle, making sure to extend the ink into the next pie shape. This way the colors are actually blended instead of each pie being a separate color. I used Post-It Notes to help keep the ink in the areas.

Using the inspiration from Gina's card in Thursday's Crafter-noon Live, I cut 8 leaf dies from Layering Weight white card stock and added them to the blended pie shapes. The circle dies are also from ML 3 and the sentiment is from the GKD Doodle Sayings Mini stamp set.

For embellishment, I sprinkled 5 Micro Disco Ball sequins around the front of the card.

I always finish the inside of my cards and this is how I finished this one.

I cut the flower die from white care sock and used the ink left on the blending brushes to color it. The sentiment is from the GKD set Perfect Posy Mini.

Thanks for checking in and have a great Friday,
Colleen

Rock Star

 Hey all,

I hope this week has been going well for you. I've not had much stamping MOJO this week, but I did manage to finish a card using a couple of challenges. It was a struggle as I kept changing things up, but in the end, I think it turned out okay.

Using LeAnne's music theme for this week's Paper Player's Challenge and the sketch from the current Sunday Stamps Challenge, this is the card I came up with.

It turns out that I don't have many music themed stamps in my collection. I found two sets that would work, both older Taylored Expressions sets, and I decided to use this one called You're My Hero which has several Rock N Roll images.

The patterned papers are from my stash and I have no idea the company, but I'm sure they came in a TE Key Ingredients monthly set from years ago. (Probably with this stamp set.) The images in the paper are of headphones. There are two sheets with the same coloring and pattern. In one the headphone images are big, and on the other sheet, the headphone images are smaller.

I stamped the rock peeps on the sheet with the smaller headphone images and cut them out using a Spellbinders circle die and cut a black mat with a large scalloped circle die. The two squiggly stars are stamped using SU Lemon Lime Twist ink. Before die cutting them, I stamped the sentiments over the stamped stars with black ink. The embellishments are small die cut stars, cut from black card stock with black Stickles glitter added.

Here's the inside. The images are stamped on another piece from the same patterned paper stack.

That's all from me for today. I have some Valentine's Day cards that I've made over the last few weeks that I really should get in the mail soon. Maybe I'll work on that this afternoon.

Thanks all, and happy Thursday.
Colleen

Wishing You All The Best and LOVE/love You

 Hi and Happy Saturday,

I've got two challenge cards for you today. Both are made with Gina K Designs stamps, dies and other supplies.

This first one uses Jen's sketch for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I went very clean and simple on this card. The rainbow is stamped using an image from the mini set called Just Add Color. I simply inked the image up with each rainbow color and stamped so the colors merged together. Once the rainbow was completed, I stamped the Geranium image from the Petite Geranium Mini set and one of the greetings from the same set in Black ink.  Using Master Layouts 1, I cut the stamped panel and a black mat. Besides CAS, it was a super quick card to make.

The inside is stamped with a get well message as this card will be mailed off to my Aunt who is recovering from two cracked vertebrae. OUCH!

Card two is for the February Monthly Mix challenge in the Gina K Designs Facebook group. This month is to make a wreath. I did use the GKD Wreath Builder template. It really makes it easy to get things even and consistent. The stamped images are from one of the newest sets from the January kit release.
