The Sweet Stop Sketch 58 - Hello

For my second post today I have a card made using Saturday's The Sweet Stop sketch.  I used two of my favorite new stamp sets by Taylored Expressions, Garden Party Blooms and Garden Party Critters.  I'm just lovin' these stamps!
I think it's the whimsicalness (is that a word?) of them.  Fun, Fun, Fun.  I paired them with the Garden Party Project Pantry to make this bright and cheery card. Not sure who the lucky person will be to receive it, but off it will go to someone to say "hello".  For now, you all get to enjoy it first.

The front:

Detail of the front:

The inside: The Garden Party Project Pantry has some cute stickers that were used on the inside.

Other: classic rectangle and large scallop rectangle nesties,

Well, it's back to work tomorrow :( but that's how I pay for my "toys").  Have a great week all,

Mojo Monday 141 - Enjoy the Ride

Happy Memorial Day all,

A Monday holiday means more stamping time for me, and a chance to make a card for the Mojo Monday sketch on the day it comes out.  I decided to go with a round card since there was a choice.  I also decided to give ribbon flowers a try.  My first attempt.  They were fun to make and not to difficult once I got the hang of twisting the ribbon.  I imagine that with practice they will improve, but these look pretty good for my first ones.

Supplies

Stamps: Pedaling Past by Stampin' Up
Cardstock: SU Regal rose and whisper white
DSP: SU Sweet Always
Ink: Memento rich cocoa, Copics
Other: Classic round and scallop round nesties, SU square lattice embossing folder, silk ribbons, the Big Shot, dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen

Time For Tea and More Challenges

Hi again everyone,

This is my second post today.

I had a really fun day of stamping, taking the opportunity to play along with a couple challenges that I normally don't have time for.  Since I had a few days off work last week, I was able to get cards finished for the challenges that I usually do, and so on this weekend, I had time to do some other challenges.  As you all know, there are tons of challenges in blog land.  I chose to do the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and Inkspirations Challenge #25.

I couldn't decide which element in the picture that I wanted to use as my "inspiration" so I picked three, the color, the flowers and the pearls.  Here's my card using these three elements:

And here's the Inkspiration Challenge #25 layout:

Supplies

Stamps: CreativiTEA set by Taylored Expressions
Card stock and DSP: Taylored Expressions
Ink: Memento tuxedo black
Other: SU Sizzix Texturez plate pattern #1, Nestabilities labels 9, EK Success daisy chain punch, medium and small pearls by Recollections, SU pretties kit large pearls, the Big Shot, dimensionals.

The tea pot and cup were paper pieced.

All in all, it was a really fun stamping day.  I hope you all have a great Memorial Day tomorrow and a great week,

Colleen

SSSC71 - Hi From Kona

Good Morning all,

It's Sunday and another beautiful day here.  I got into my stamping room early this morning to check out what Karen had in store for us with this week's sketch.  As always, another goodie.  I haven't used a large oval on a card for quite awhile, and I had some fun with this one.

Once the paper colors were chosen, I decided I wanted the kraft paper to have a "thatched" look, to give it that island feel. I came up with using the lattice embossing folder.  I think it worked pretty well.  I also used SU crystal effects to make the surf board look shinny, since they really are.  All in all, I think it came together very well.  So, enjoy a "trip" to the islands with Kona.

This card for my brother who has had some health issues in the recent months.  He'll get a kick out of this cute little guy saying "Hi," as he likes all things Hawaiian.

Supplies
Stamps:  Hangin' Loose with Kona from OCL
Card Stock: Turquoise blue, kraft and choice buttercream from Taylored Expressions
DSP: From the 2009 Beach Bum key ingredients kit by Taylored Expressions (I don't remember the line it's from)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, and many Copics to color Kona
Other: SU lattice embossing folder, SU vintage brads, classic oval and scalloped oval nesties, the Big Shot, EK Success bubble punch, SU crystal effects, and dimensionals.

Have a fabulous Sunday all!  Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen

TESC115 - A Happy Birthday Celebration

Hi fellow stampers,

It's beautiful here in southern California, a perfect spring day.  A slight breeze off the ocean and not a cloud.  I probably should have been out and about, but instead I spent the afternoon making a card for my dear friend Denis' birthday, which is tomorrow.  Since stamping is my favorite past time, I don't feel guilty at all.  (LOL)

I've used Taylor's Friday sketch 115 for the layout, and I'm sure he'll like it, as it has a picture of his favorite drink on the front.  A manhattan with a cherry.  He orders one whenever we go out to a bar or restaurant.

Supplies
Stamps:  SU sets Alphabet Soup, Cheers To You, and Lexicon of Love
Card stock: Kraft, red and choice buttercream
DSP: So Sophie Clever Collection from MME
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, taken with teal, ruby red, certainly celery, always artichoke, creamy caramel, basic black marker and Copics to color the manhattan
Embellishments:  lime green, xmas red and star dust Stickles, red glitter candy dots, SU red brad, classic rectangle nesties, the big shot and dimensionals.

Have a great evening.  I'm going to watch the Padre game.

Mojo Monday 140 "Thank You"

Hi all,

I haven't used the Mojo Monday sketch in, forever, to make a card.  I had some stamping time this afternoon and decided I'd try out this weeks layout. I used the extremely CUTE set by Taylored Expressions called Garden Party Critters along with the Garden Party Project Pantry kit.  The garden sign and inch worm are colored with Copics and popped up on dimensionals. Stickles cover some of the worm's segments and the snail's shell.  The background is sponged with green galore ink.

This will be sent off to my sister to thank her for her hospitality last weekend.

Supplies
Stamps: Garden Party Critters by Taylored Expressions
Card stock, DSP and ribbon: Garden Party Project Pantry set by Taylored Expresions
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, memento rich cocoa, SU real red, glorious green, green galore.  SU markers in pumpkin pie & close to cocoa.  Copic markers.
Stickles: Diamond, lime green & yellow
Other:  SU punches, SU real red button, classic square & scallop square nesties, the big shot, mini glue dots & dimensionals.

I'm back to work tomorrow, then it's a three day weekend. I can't wait.  I wish everyone a fun, safe and happy Memorial Day holiday.

Thanks for checking in,
Colleen

"Dream, Inspire, Create" for SSSC70

Happy Thursday to all,

Another week day post for me. Woo who!  Today it's for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I again used rub-ons.  Not sure why I've grabbed the rub-ons for two cards in a row.  I rarely use them.  I have a bunch from SU, now retired, sitting in a stack.  Since the SSSC70 layout has a flourish design, I remembered that one of those rub-on sets had something that I could use.  While looking through my stack, I saw the square images for "dream, inspire, and create" and decided that they would fit the layout perfectly.  With a few added embellishments, it all came together, although flipped.

Supplies:
Card stock: SU sahara sand, baja breeze, vanilla
SU rub-ons: Summer Love & Love and Happiness
Ribbon: SU Baja Breeze
Other: Kaiser pink rhinestones, SU corner rounder, 1 1/4" and
1 3/8" square punches, mini glue dots and dimensionals.

Thanks for checking in.  Have a great Memorial Day Weekend. I hope it's a fab one for you!

Thinking of You for TESC114

Happy Hump Day to all,

I took today and tomorrow off, which means I have time to get in some stamping during the week rather than waiting for the weekend.  Here is my card for Friday's TESC114.  I really kept this one simple.  Just one bit of stamping for the greeting and that's it.  The rest is layered paper to follow the layout and rub-ons.  Most all supplies used can be found in this month's Key Ingredients set by Taylored Expressions.  I just love these sets!

Supplies:
Stamps: Garden Party Critters by Taylored Expressions
Card stock: choice snow white and lava
DSP: Pebbles treehouse
Image: Pebbles treehouse rub-ons
Ink: Memento rich cocoa
Other: SU punches, SU old olive buttton, SU linen thread, classic circle and large scallop circle nesties, the big shot, dimensionals

Have a great day,
Colleen

Rockin' Birthday Card- TESC113

Happy Sunday everyone,

I'm flying to Portland, OR Thursday to spend the weekend with my sister's family. We will be celebrating my nephew's 13th birthday.
I used this week's TESC layout to make his card.  When I saw the sketch, it seemed a bit intimidating.  After thinking about it, and the fact that my nephew loves playing the guitar, I got this image in my brain and was able to translate it to a card.  This definitely isn't one of the 30 minute cards, as it took a few hours to come together.  Once it did, I am pretty happy with it and I know my nephew will be too.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Taylored Expressions "Your My Hero" set
Cards stock, DSP, metallic brads, and silver foil from "Your My Hero Key Ingredients" by Taylored Expressions
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, real red, not quite navy, Copic markers, Versa mark craft pad
Other: Stampin' Up top note die, classic circle nesties, SU silver and clear EP, sponge, The Big Shot, crystal effects liquid and dimensionals.

The emboss resist technique was used in the white circle.

Thanks for looking in,
Colleen
