Let It Snow

 Happy Hump Day Peeps,

Yet another Winter Themed challenge for this week, and I have a fun card to share. This is a CASE of a card I saw in Yana's IG gallery from way back in 2022.

Joanne is hostess for CAS week and her theme is Signs of Winter for the Paper Players.. I've made a single layer card with just stamping and a little Copic coloring. I've used four different GKD stamp sets, but I really like how fun it turned out. I especially like the green and pink colors.

Here's the inside.

It's more tennis watching for me this morning, oh, and some laundry. I hope your day is a good one.

Merry Christmas

 Hello all,

One more Holiday card for today's post. This one uses the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and  the theme challenge from the Paper Players where Stef has the monthly CAS challenge. She also added a theme of Favorite Holiday Image. I cheated a little and used my current favorite technique, which is stenciling.

These stencils are from Concord & 9th as are the inks and card stock.

For the inside, I stamped a simple greeting, also from Concord & 9th.

Well, that's it from me for about a month. We leave on Wednesday for the east coast, Long Island, Greenport, NY, for a couple of weeks and then to Connecticut for a couple of weeks. We fly back home on 12/13, so a nice long holiday.

For those celebrating in the U. S., have a fun and festive Thanksgiving.

Warm Cocoa Wishes

 Happy Hump Day Peeps,

I've been working on my Holiday cards this week. It's kind of been a slow process because I'm playing with mostly die cuts right now, but boy, there are some pretty cute cards in my pile.

Today's card is no exception to the die cuts, and in fact, I've added some Glimmer Hot Foiling to the mix for the snowy background. (Although, I don't recall ever seeing heart shaped snowflakes, LOL.)

The sketch is curtesy ofJoanne at the Paper Players. It's a fun one! I love embellishments, and Joanne added the little dots around the focal image in her sketch. I used three large die cut snowflakes with a wee rhinestone in the center of each.

All of the die cut images except the flags are from the Spellbinders Mugs and Mittens Large Die of the Month for this past July, including the sentiment. The flag dies are from an older MFT die set.

For the inside, I've used the Spellbinders Christmas Magic Sentiments set, also from this past July.

There will be more die cutting today. I made several backgrounds, some on acetate, which are really nice that I plan on putting to use.

Have a great day!

Quiet Peace

Happy Friday Peeps,

I'm playing along with the July edition of Woodblock Wednesday today with a very simple and monochromatic card.

I started by stenciling the GKD Snowflake Mandala on the front of a Soft Stone panel, then stamped the snowy village using a darker gray ink. The greeting is heat embossed with silver EP. After cutting the panel out with the SSS A2 Lacy Point die, I adhered it to a silver mat, then onto a dark gray card base.

The inside is very simple with more stenciling and a short greeting.

The Snowy Village stamp is from Ink Blocks, the front sentiment stamp is from Artistic Stamp Exchange and the inside greeting stamp is from Hero.

Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Winter Wishes

 TGIF Peeps,

Here's another holiday card completed. Using inspiration from The Paper Players color challenge and the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge, I made this fun winter themed card.

The green snowy background and the large snowflake purple background in the postage stamps are both foiled with Deco hot foil. The hat, sweater and gloves are from the GKD Christmas Cheer stamp and die set. The images are stamped in embossing ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder, then colored with Copic markers.

For the inside of the card, I've used sentiments and a small snowflake from the same GKD stamp set.

Have a fun Friday!

Believe in Magic

Hey all,

This cute little JOY-ful reindeer is from the Spellbinders October Stitching die set of the month and when I saw Jen's sketch yesterday for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I immediately thought of this set. I did rotate the placement from landscape to portrait view.

To make the open circle in Jen's sketch I used the circle die in the set, and a slightly bigger circle die, cut from Spellbinders gold glimmer paper to make the "O" in joy.

The bottom half of the card base is embossed with the new 3D embossing folder for October to add a little texture.  The reindeer is popped up using a small Action Wobbler device. So fun to watch him wiggle. For a little embellishments, I added a gold pearl to the center of the stitched circle and some sparkly Glossy Accents to the reindeer's horns.

I'm happy to have another holiday card completed. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Holidays

Hello peeps,

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I did lots of crafty projects. Last night I finished a poncho that I was working on while recouping from the foot surgery. I love how it turned out, too.

Today's card was one of my weekend projects. It's another Holiday card for the stash, inspired by the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Also, the Gina K Designs FaceBook group October Monthly Mix challenge is holiday cards in non-holiday colors, and this one fits perfectly as all of the supplies are from GKD.

The snowflake is made using the emboss resist technique. The background papers are from a GKD kit from several years ago. I like the retro feel of them. They are die cut using one of the dies from the Master Layouts 13 die set.

A simple and quick inside. Snowflakes from the same stamp set as the large front snowflake and the greeting from the GKD Joyful Season set.

My friend just texted me and has requested a poncho after I sent her a pic. She has a birthday end of next month, and this will be a good present. I'm off to Michaels to look at yarn.

Have a great day!

Merry Christmas

Hello Peeps!

Happy Monday. I have a bright and blingy holiday card today that I made for the soon to end Freshly Made Sketches challenge, so I need to make this blog post a short one.

I was playing with some of Gina K.'s polyglaze background panels the other day and made the two used on this card. Over the weekend I decided to use them with Jen's sketch to add to this years holiday card stash.

I've pared these sparkly panels with some sparkly retro trees from the SSS Bottlebrush Tree dies. I've cut them from some Tim Holtz Metallic papers and added some Gina K. Disco Ball sequins. The Merry Christmas die is also from GKD.

Here's the inside where I've used the panel that the oval was cut from for the front mat and a sentiment and die from Stamps Of Life.

Hope your weekend was Grand!

Circles and More Circles

Hello and Happy Thursday Peeps,

Stef is the hostess for the current Paper Players challenge, the monthly theme challenge. Stef has decided on circles. I may have gone a little over board making circle cards, but I sure had some fun.

I ended up making three cards. The third was unplanned. More about it later.

The first two planned cards are holiday cards. The July Monthly Mix challenge on the Gina K Facebook page is "Christmas In July," and I wanted a card to enter over there. When looking through my GKD Holiday sets, I came up with two ideas, hence, the two cards.

Card 1: This is a 5x7" card using all GKD supplies.

Front:

Inside:

Card 2, also using all GKD Supplies. (I was going for that retro feel, bright colors and metallics.)

Front:

 Inside:

Card three's story. You see the vellum circle on the front of card two? I originally cut a larger one to use, but decided it was too big and cut the smaller one. I have a box with misc. geometric shapes (which I'm sure all of us do) and when I opened it to pitch the larger circle in, I saw these circle leaf die cuts. Hmmm, circles. Wonder what I can do with those?

Here's card 3: My bestie that lives in Sacramento had back surgery yesterday, so this will be in the mail for her later today.

Front:

Inside:

So yes, a little over board with the circles. Two more holiday cards for the stash is good though. Now to choose which one to post to Stef's challenge.

My nephew that lives in Minneapolis is coming to San Diego for a conference that starts Monday. He is flying in tomorrow evening to spend the weekend with his Auntie. We will be going to the Padre game on Sunday afternoon. Not sure what else, but it will be great to spend time with him none-the-less.

A Joyful Christmas

 Happy Monday Peeps,

It's still full on June Gloom here and very drippy outside. No rain, just a very heavy marine layer/foggy day. Again, a great day to have fun at the craft desk, or catch up on blogging cards.

Speaking of blogging cards, I made this one for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge a few days ago and didn't get around to taking pictures and blogging it. Better late than never, and I'm making this a short post as the Linky closes in less than an hour.

I decided to do a holiday card, my first for this year. I've used sets from GKD, and an embossing folder, also from GKD.

Here's the inside of the card.

Thanks for checking in, and enjoy your Monday.

Happy Holidays

Hi again,

I decided to do one more post today since I had this card finished. It's made using the current Color Throwdown challenge colors of Red, Green, and Cream.

I started with a cream card base and used the C&9th Plaid Turnabout stamp with two shades of red and two shades of green.  The center oval is from Spellbinders and it's cut from the same vanilla card stock and ink blended with the brighter red shade and the two greens. It's a landing space for the tree dies from Gina K Designs, cut from glitter paper and backed with green card stock. The sentiment is from an older Gina K Designs mini stamp set.

For the inside, I've used a sentiment and small tree image from the 2024 GKD-SSS Stamptember promotion.

Thanks for looking in today, and enjoy your Friday evening!

Just for You

 TGIF everybody!

I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend. I am going to a holiday party tomorrow afternoon hosted by my former manager for her current team and I've been invited. I can't wait to see everyone as it's been 3.5 years since I retired.

My card for this post is for LeAnne's theme challenge at the Paper Players. LeAnne wants us to use a deer on our projects. I realized that I have way more deer images than I can ever use, although it might be fun to make it a theme one year for my holiday cards and use each set for one card. (Hmmm, that could be a fun idea.)

Anyway, I chose this cute Simon Says Stamp Holiday Ornament set for my card today.

All of the images used are from the SSS stamp and die set. The background patterned papers are from my misc. bag of papers, so I have no idea of the company. I liked the collage for the background to the ornaments. The ornaments are colored with alcohol markers, both Copic and OLO.

There are five ornaments in the set, and I used another for the inside.

Enjoy the rest of your Friday! I need to do some chores, one being getting my car washed.

Season's Greetings

 Happy Saturday,

I hope everyone is doing well this weekend. I'm finally back home after spending the past, almost month, at my mom's in Northern California. I wasn't planning on staying as long as I did, but it ended up that way. I drove the 12.5 hour drive on Thanksgiving day. The good news, no traffic, even through Los Angeles and no waiting for car charging in LA.

After wading through mail and packages on Friday I was able to spend today in my craft room. Since this past Wednesday was the last Wednesday of the month, it is time for Woodblock Wednesday over on Amy's blog. I really like digging through my drawers of wood mounted stamps to play along each month. This month, I made two cards. (I'll write a second blog post for the second card.)

Today's card has a fun snowman, who seems to be very excited for the holidays. I've used Linda's sketch for this week's  Freshly Made Sketches challenge for the layout.

The background snow flake embossing folder is from Gina K Designs and the pattern papers are scraps from my stash bag. No clue of the company.

I kept the inside really simple with just the greeting.

The snowman stamp is from Stampendous circa 2000. The front greeting is from Hero and the inside greeting is from Annette Allen Watkins, 1992.

I love looking through the gallery to see how the wood mounted stamps are used.

Have a great Sunday, the end of a four day weekend for most of us in the U.S.

CHRISTMAS

 Happy Monday Peeps,

I'm still visiting my mom and sister in Northern California, mostly just hanging out with mom. We play cards and Yahtzee in the evenings after dinner, and I've been getting some crafty time in. I've made another crochet beanie hat and I've also done some sewing. Of course, a little stamping.

Today's card works for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the new Paper Players challenge. It's Clean and Simple week at the Paper Players and Jaydee's theme is Christmas.

I pulled out a fun and punny GKD set from my sister's stamps to use for my card.

Mom and I were reminiscing yesterday morning about how my grandmother (father's mother) would make homemade popcorn balls with red and green food coloring, wrap them in plastic wrap with curling ribbon, and put in our stockings, so when i was looking through the stamps yesterday and saw this sentiment, I just had to use it.

The inside of the card is super simple with just a greeting.

I wish everyone a good week. It will be rainy here starting Wednesday then for the rest of the week. Mom has an endoscopy scheduled for Friday, then she and I will drive back to my house on the weekend.
