Keeping It WHEEL

Hi there and happy Friday peeps,

Hopefully you all have something fun or relaxing planned for the long weekend. We have been at our friend's house since last Saturday up on the Central California Coast wine country. It was a planned working/vacation. Since we really just need good WIFI to do most of our jobs, this worked out well.
We have some fun wine tastings planned for the weekend and tonight we will be in Cambria at our favorite sea food resturant.

I planned on some crafty supplies to bring since we were going to be gone for more than a week, and we made the journey by car, which makes it much easier to do.

The Freshly Made Sketches ladies are having a celebration to mark the 400th sketch. Here is my card for this week's sketch. I've used a Julie Ebersole set called Good Times paired with new SU Christmas DSP. These patterns are pretty versatile and can be used for non-holiday cards too.

Since I didn't have time last week to make a card for last week's 300th sketch, I made one this week. This set is is called Candlelight and is by Altenew. (These layering sets are so fun!) Again, I've paired the stamps with new SU Christmas DSP.

Wishing everyone a fun, restful and safe holiday weekend. Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Hello

Happy Thursday,

I've got my card for Laurie's Paper Players Challenge sketch challenge. Love the layers in her sketch this week.

I've used Concord & 9th stamps and dies to celebrate their fourth birthday this month, and they are having a little contest if you publish your cards to their social media feeds.

Here's my card with Laurie's sketch.

I started with a card base of Old Olive card stock, then using the C&9th Hey There Turnabout set stamped the background in various fall-ish shades. The focal image is the C&9th Laurel Frame set, stamped using SU Old Olive, Mossy Meadow for the leaves and some Gina K yellow and orange shades for the flowers. The images were cut out using the set dies and popped up with dimensionals. The sentiment is part of the Laurel Frame die set. I cut it three times from the bright orange card stock and glued them together for a thicker element.

Here is the inside of the card:

These images are from the Hey There Turnabout set.

A bright and fun Fall Greeting card. Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Supplies
Stamps: Laurel Frame set and Hey There Turnabout set both by Concord & 9th
Paper: SU Old Olive, Whisper White card stock, Taylored Expressions Orange and Gold card stock
Ink: SU Old Olive and Mossy Meadow, Gina K Tangerine Twist, Faded Brick, Prickly Pear, Honey Mustard, Peach Bellini, Sweet Corn ink cubes
Other: Laurel Frame set dies, Misti, Gemini Jr, dimensionals, liquid glue

JOY

Happy Hump Day peeps,

I've got a simple Christmas Card using some new DSP from SU. I love the plaid with the gold accents in this paper and the rich colors too.

This sketch is this week's CAS(E) this Sketch! layout. I'm squeaking in before this afternoon's deadline. The stamps are all Concord & 9th. It's their 4th anniversary and they are having a give-away for entries posted to their social media feed, which I plan on doing with a few cards that I've made over the past couple of days.

The green panel is backed with white so the sentiment is easier to see. I also added some gold sequins randomly on the letters to help make it the focal area of the card. The dies are part of the set bundle, with the exception of the loopy scallop die, which is Die-namics. I used some Wink of Stella over the blue shapes in the snowflake as well as the scallops. Looks nice IRL, but kind of gray in the photo.

Here's the inside of the card. Images are all from the same C & 9th set.

Thanks all for looking in,
Colleen

Supplies
Stamps: Cozy Christmas set by Concord & 9th
Paper: SU Night of Navy, Shaded Spruce, and Whisper White card stock, SU Wrapped In Plaid DSP pack
Ink: SU Night of Navy, Shaded Spruce, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Cozy Christmas dies, Die-Namics Open Scalloped Border die, gold sequins, Misti, Gemini Jr, dimensionals

Concord & 9th Note Card Set

Hi Peeps,

Tomorrow I'm getting together with my Craft Group ladies. We have a Craft Day about every two months or so. We have lunch, visit and make cards. I'm the one who puts together the projects, and usually I use supplies from SU. This time, I decided to use some of my new "goodies" from Concord and 9th. I made a set of three fall themed note cards. No challenges used for these. Just playing around and being creative.

Here's a picture of the three note cards.

The card base is SU More Mustard card stock. The plaid panel is stamped using the Woven Plaid Background set. The ink colors are Riding Hood Red, Garden Green and Tip Top Taupe. The set and die for the focal image is the Friendship Farm Bundle.

The inside of each card is the same. I just coordinated the plaid color for each.

After I finished making the note card set, I ended up making one more card with these two sets, but the focal image here is made using the Big Thanks set bundle.

And, here's the inside to this card.

We always have fun on Craft Days. Tomorrow should be no different.

Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Friendship Farms-Concord & 9th

Hi crafty peeps,

I received my August release sets from Concord & 9th. I Love it all, and I couldn't wait to ink up and color this Vintage Artichoke set.

I made this for a Thank you card. We went to our friend's house for dinner Saturday night. Always a wonderful time with good food, good wine, and great friends!

The artichoke is stamped 5 times around a panel of Neenah Solar White using Memento tuxedo black and then colored with a variety of green and purple Copics. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. The sketch is based on this week's CAS(E)! this Sketch.

 Here is the inside:

I hope you all had a good start to your work week. My day was busy, and then my work cell phone has died. It just won't charge any longer and the battery is 3%. Guess I'll need to order a new one and deal with getting everything transferred over.

Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Autumn Wishes and Toucan of My Appreciation

Hello again,

Freshly Made Sketches is having a weekly celebration this month in honor of 400 week's worth of sketches. Amazing! I really wanted to participate, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to do any crafting last week. But, I made up for it this week by making cards using both this week's and last week's sketches.

First up is the one I made using this week's sketch. I've used a new Turnabout set from Concord & 9th. It's called Sweater Weather. Love it!

This is a really simple card. Four SU ink colors, some SU Baker's twine and the Concord & 9th set and corresponding dies made this card a snap to create.

And, as I mentioned, I also went back to the sketch from last week and made a card. Using yet more Concord & 9th sets. Here we go, better late than never!

Supplies
Stamps: Sweater Weather Turnabout and Tropical Vibes Turnabout, Toucan Paradise sets by Concord & 9th
Paper: Neenah Solar White, SU More Mustard, Blueberry Bushel, TE bright green card stock
Ink: SU More Mustard, Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Blue Berry Bushel, Memento tuxedo black, Taylored Expressions ink cubes in many colors for card 2
Other: Sweater Weather and Toucan Paradise dies, Gemin Jr, SU Baker's twine, SU leaf enamel shapes, dimensionals, Misti

I'm Here For All the Cake

Hello,

Hoping your weekend is going well. For me, this weekend is finally back to "normal." More about that later. Since it's Sunday, it's time for a new Paper Players challenge. This week, the very talented and sweet Joanne is our hostess and she has a fun Cards for Kids theme, combined with this month's CAS challenge.

The July SSS monthly kit's stamp set fit perfectly for Joanne's kid card theme. I made a birthday card.

I began by using my Socr-buddy to score 3/4" from all four edges of the card base. The panda image is stamped using Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics, then cut out with a Die-namics Stitched Square die. I placed it in the desired location using temporary adhesive, and using my Misty, stamped the balloons. After coloring them with Copics, the square was popped up using dimensionals, matching the balloon strings. I kept embellishments minimal, just using a white gel pen to add lines on the balloons and some fuzzy little balls (thinking any kid would love them.)

Using more images from the set, I made the inside of the card.

To explain my back to normal weekends comment, I have been at my mom's in northern California for the past two and a half weeks. My younger brother passed away on August 4. Mom and I were with him in the hospital. My sister lives in Portland, so she wasn't able to make it in time, but did come. So, a very sad August for our family. We all doing okay, better every day.

It certainly felt good to get some crafting in this weekend. I made a few cards yesterday that I'll share in other posts later and over the next few days.

Thanks for looking in and have a nice afternoon,
Colleen
