Wine a Little, It Helps. . .

Hello all,

Today's card I made for the current Fusion Card Challenge.  Wine and Cheese are two of my favorite things, so I had to play along.

I have this large wine bottle die that I thought would be perfect for the sketch and theme for the Fusion challenge . Unfortunately, I didn't label the storage envelope that I have this die stored in and since it's several years old, I really have no idea of the maker. (I tried looking it up on SSS and a few other web sites but couldn't find it.)

I also remembered I have this older wood mounted stamp of a wine basket and thought it would be fun for the label on the die cut bottle. This is also an older stamp with a date on the price tag of 2005.

Since I'm using all of these older supplies, this card works for the current Anything Goes Challenge at Retro Rubber. Even the patterned papers are several years old, from SU and long retired.

The greetings, both front and inside, are from Taylored Expressions.

Enjoy your afternoon and the rest of the week, and thanks for looking in.
Colleen

Hello, Sunshine

 Happy Hump Day Peeps,

This morning I received a box of happiness in the mail, my order from Gina K's latest release. As I was putting the stamp sets into the storage pockets, I thought that the Lemons & Sunshine set would be perfect for Claire's Paper Players Challenge, Tic-Tac-Toe this month. I used the left side vertical option of Sun, Yellow, Die Cut.

After finishing the card, I realized that it also works for the GKD August Monthly Mix Challenge. Sheri is the hostess and her challenge is to have texture on our projects. I've used  dies, foam squares for dimension,  an embossing folder,  and pearl embellishments, all help to add texture.

I used Copics to color the lemons. All of the other supplies are from GKD.

I started by using the Sun Stencil and blended the rays coming down from the top left corner with a mini blending brush. I moved the stencil down to get the rays to go all the way to the bottom of the card stock panel. Using a larger blending brush, I added more color to the large sun hole in the stencil, removed the stencil and stamped the small sun image and greeting, both from the stamp set. On a separate piece of card stock I stamped the lemon images, colored them with Copics and cut them out with the corresponding set dies. The stenciled panel is cut out using ML2. I lined up where I wanted to place the lemon images on the stitched die and cut those so when I taped them on the card, the stitching matches. The card base is dry embossed with the GKD Swiss Dots EF.

Here's the inside of the card. This greeting is super cute substituting "zest" for "best."

Thanks for looking in today.
Colleen
