Good Sunday afternoon. I've been making Valentine's cards all weekend and so my card for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge continues the theme. As usual, Karen's design was a fun one to work up. I really like using circles on cards. For me, there is just something about combining different geometric shapes that enhances the visual appeal. Instead of a stamped greeting on the front of my card, I used one of Jamie Pyles' handmade buttons. Aren't they fab!! For some of the heart "leaves" I punched them with the new SU small heart punch to add color variation and dimension. The puppy was stamped separately, cut out and also raised with dimensionals. Well, without further adieu, here is my card.
Supplies:
"Love Everywhere" stamp set by Taylored Expressions, choice buttercream card stock and DSP from the Valentine's Key Ingredients bundle also by Taylored Expressions, handmade button by Jamie Pyles, SU cameo coral card stock, SU textured impressions polka dot embossing folder, circle and scallop circle nestabilities, Memento rich cocoa ink, SU real red and chocolate chip inks, SU small heart punch, twine, dimesionals and the Big Shot.
Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen

Cheers for Sweet Sunday Sketch #53
Happy Sunday everyone! I hope your weekend is going well. I am excited to participate in this week's SSSC by Karen Giron. I love the layout using both circles and rectangles. Since I was making this a more masculine card, I decided against using too many embellishments. The margarita was stamped and colored twice using SU water color markers, with the 2nd one cut out and "popped up" over the first image. The circles are also raised using dimensionals. I usually do one or more raised images or elements on all of my cards. I just like the look. Finally, I painted Crystal Effects over the image to give it a "glassy" look.
Supplies: Stamps are from the "Chillax" stamp set by Taylored Expressions and the "Warm Wishes" stamp set by Stampin' Up. Card stock and DSP from the January 2010 Key Ingredients by Taylored Expressions. Inks are Momento Tuxedo Black and various SU watercolor markers. I also used the Textured Impressions Polka Dot embossing folder and the Big Shot by Stampin' Up, stampin' dimensionals, and Stampin' Up Crystal Effects.
Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Mom
Good Evening from another wet San Diego day. I made this card to participate in this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch late last night. I got this new set from SU a few weeks ago and I thought the large "Mom" stamp would be perfect for the oval element in this weeks Mojo Monday sketch. I struggled some with the ribbon element not liking the choices that I had, but then got the idea to use the candy dots. In the end, I think it turned out pretty. I know that my mom will love the colors.
Supplies: "Messages for Mom" stamp set from Stampin' Up, Choice Buttercream and pink card stock from Taylored Expressions, Ooh La La patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, raspberry candy dots, pink paper flower, SU word window and retired border/corner punches, SU inks, and dimensionals.
