Hi and welcome to the weekend,
Do you have plans? Today is my craft group meeting. We try to meet monthly, but we have missed a few months due to the holidays and vacations. I'm the only non-retired person and even though I work full time and travel a fair amount for work, it seems like those retired ladies are busier than me, LOL. Usually, I put together a card or two for everyone to make, but today we are doing something different. We have a Zentangle teacher coming. I'm looking forward to seeing what this is all about.
On to my card. I've missed a few of the recent SugarPea Designs contests, but last night after finishing up some reports, I decided I was in the mood to be creative. Since I had saved the latest sketch from SPD on my desktop a few days ago, I decided to make a Valentine's Day card for my sister using the sketch.
It's a great layout. Simple layers, which I love to do. I will be using this sketch again.
Supplies
Stamps: Love You Bunches set by SugarPea Designs
Paper: Taylored Expressions blue textured card stock, XPress-It Blending card stock and Dear Lizzy "Lucky Charm" by American Crafts patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and Copics, white gel pen
Other: Die-namics stitched oval die, Spellbinders scalloped oval die, SU heart die, Fishers corner rounder punch, flowered sequins (I don't know the brand), the Big Shot and dimensional
I'm off for a crafty morning. Have a great day everyone and thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Have a Whopper of a Birthday
Hello stampers,
I made this card Sunday for a friend who has a birthday next week. I know he doesn't read my blog so no chance he'll see his card before I mail it. I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 253.
I stamped the image in Memento tuxedo black and colored it with Copics. I drew in the grass by using the "flicking" technique and used a cloud stencil to add the sky. The image was cut out with Die-namics stitched circle STAX and I used this technique by Debbie Olson to not cut the fishing hook off. A few enamel dots finish it up.
Supplies
Stamps: Great Catch set by SugarPea Designs
Paper: Taylored Expressions Buttercream card stock and We R Memory Keepers "Happy Campers" patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copics, and SU Early Expresso and Soft Sky
Other: Die-Namics stitched circle STAX die, cloud stencil, large sponge dauber, enamel dots, the Big Shot, and dimensionals
Happy Hump Day tomorrow. Thanks for looking in,
Colleen

Howdy, Country Girl
Hello, or should I say Howdy,
I have a birthday card for my cousin Cindy today. She celebrates "the big one," as it's known in my house, this month. I'm a few months behind her, but it's coming up fast.
Cindy likes all things "country" and is an avid horse person. I figured this super cute Pure Innocence set was perfect to make her a birthday card.
The layout comes from the My Favorite Things Wednesday sketch challenge #212.
I stamped the PI Cowgirl in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copics. Her vest is paper pieced. I used clear rhinestones for her hat band and a red rhinestone for her belt buckle. The fence is a Die-namics die as are the horseshoes. I used some thick jute twine to shape a lariat to hang over the fence. Another Die-namics die was used for the bottom scallops.
Supplies
Stamps: My Favorite Things set, Pure Innocence Cowgirl
Paper: Giddy Up 6 x 6" pad by Carta Bella patterned papers, XPress-It Blending card stock, Simon Says Stamp heavy weight craft card stock for the fence, SU silver card stock for the horse shoes
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copics, SU real red, white gel pen
Other: Die-namics fence, horseshoe, scalloped border dies, jute twine, clear and red rhinestones, glue dots, the Big Shot, diemnsionals
Thanks for looking,
Colleen

S'Up?
Hey! Hello,
I'm on a roll, LOL. This is my second post tonight.
While watching (listening to) The Golden Globes tonight, I thought I'd play along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I combined it with Ann's color challenge for The Paper Players. The colors are Sahara Sand, Lost Lagoon and Crisp Cantaloupe.
I kept my card really simple using the fun SU set called "Hi There."
Supplies
Stamps: Hi There set by Stampin' Up
Paper: SU Crisp Cantaloupe, Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand and Whisper White card stock, SU Crisp Cantaloupe Chevron DSP
Ink: SU Sahara Sand
Other: Die-namics Stitched rectangles and chevron dies, SU chat bubble dies, enamel dots, the Big Shot, and dimensionals
Thanks for looking,
Colleen

I Love You
Happy New Year all,
Work was crazy busy during the holidays for me this year. I barely got presents and cards finished and mailed before Christmas. New Year's week was no different. I had no additional crafty time and unfortunately, the craziness is still going on. So, this is my first post of the new year.
Yesterday, I decided I wanted to get a new table for my stamping. My craft room also serves as our guest room and my home office. I had this old, very heavy table that I would put up and take down each time I decided to do some stamping. I set out just to get a lighter table, which I did get, but it's longer than my old one. It didn't quite fit in the area that I used in the room. Today, I rearranged furniture to make it a permanent home (I don't have to put it up and take it down each crafty session) and I think it's going to work out pretty well. I'm happy.
To celebrate my new area, I made this card using the current MOJO Monday sketch.
I got this super sweet Mama Elephant set before the holidays. I thought it'd make a cute Valentine's Day card for my niece as she loves kitties. The papers are all SU and I colored the kittens with Copics.
Supplies
Stamps: Purrfect Pair set from Mama Elephant
Paper: SU Whisper White and Strawberry Slush card stock and SU All Abloom DSP
Ink: Memento tuxedo black and Copics
Other: Taylored Expressions EF, Die-namics stitched square die, SU white ribbon, white floss, Fishers corner punch, Pebbles enamel hearts, the Big Shot, dimensionals
Have a great week and thanks for looking,
Colleen
