Sweet Sunday Sketch - Thank You

Hi fellow stampers,

After several weeks away from stamping due to broken bones in my right arm (elbow mainly), I have healed enough to begin getting back to some activities.  Needless to say, stamping was the first thing I asked the physical therapist if it was okay to do.  While I'm very limited on what I can do with my right arm, (no weight bearing activities and limited mobility) I decided to give it a go.  I picked some projects with limited coloring and I'm using my left hand for most everything major.  This is a great feat for me as before this happened, my left arm/hand was just for balance and decoration rather than actual use, LOL.

On to my card for today.  Since the SSSC has truly been my favorite weekly challenge to participate in, I am using it to get back into the groove.  As usual, Karen has give us a fun layout to use.  I have combined SSSC79 with this weeks Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 40 from over at Stacey Schafer's blog. It's the first time I've done this particular challenge. I was not enthused with the color combination, but gave it a try anyway. I'm not sure if maybe I've gone a little overboard with the embellishments; you know "more isn't always better, sometimes it's just more".  I also got stuck with where to put the greeting until I saw Laura Fredrickson's card here.  I shamelessly used her idea.

Supplies:
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes by Stampin' Up
Card stock: Basic black textured, kiwi kiss textured, whisper white all Stampin' Up
Patterned paper: Night and Day by Stampin' Up
Ink: Tempting turquoise, real red, kiwi kiss, basic black
Other: Classic oval and scalloped oval nesties, SU small and large oval punches, various SU brads, SU Beautiful Wings embosslits die, red rhinestones, the big shot and dimensionals

I have a few more cards made that I will post in the coming days. Most are "thank you" cards as I've received birthday and "get well" presents from many friends and relatives over the past few weeks. When one is stuck at home with only reading to do, it's so wonderful to receive presents and cards in the mail.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great coming week. Thanks for stopping by,
Colleen
