HB2U

Hello and happy Sunday afternoon,

Here is one more December birthday card. This birthday "boy" has his birthday on Christmas day. (boy is in quotes because my friend Martin is just north of 70 years young.) I usually do something car related because he races Porches and loves cars, but I think he's seen all of my car related stamps, so this year he gets a more traditional birthday card.

The sketch is a Freshly Made sketch from a few weeks ago and these great masculine papers are from an Amy Tangerine paper pack. Stamps are TE.

Supplies
Stamps: You Take the Cake set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Glorious Green, Night of Navy, and X-Press It Blending card stocks and Amy Tangerine patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU Night of Navy and Copics
Other: classic circle Nesties, Die-namics Fishtail Flags die, orange and yellow Stickles, Expresso Dimensional Pearls, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Merry Christmas to all. I hope you get to celebrate with family and friends.

Thanks,
Colleen

Firefighter Birthday Card

Happy Wednesday afternoon,

Continuing on with my end of Dec. birthday cards today and I have a card that I made for a little guy who turns six a few days after Christmas. He loves all things rescue related. His favorite saying is "I'm going to be a firefighter/paramedic/lifeguard for the rest of my life." We just crack up. Of them all, I think firefighters are his favorite so it was a no brainer to use the uber cute PI Firefighter Boy stamp set for his card.

I wanted to put a fire truck in the background, but didn't have a stamp for that (how that is possible with all my stamps I don't know). I went on line and found this cute vintage fire truck, complete with the dog. Because it's a vintage truck, I colored it with some faded areas instead of bright and shinny red all over.

I didn't use a sketch for this card, just put it together very simply. The images are colored with Copics and the background on the fire truck is sponged with SU blue ink.

Supplies
Stamps: Pure Innocence Firefighter Boy set by My Favorite Things and Vintage Fire truck digi stamp by JW Illustrations
Paper: SU Marina Mist and Whisper White card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock and SU Parker's Patterns DSP
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU Real Red and Copics
Other: SB Curved Rectangles, blue Smooch, red Stickles, Spica silver glitter pen and clear glitter pen (on the fire suit reflector stripes)

We're going to my guy's holiday party tonight. I bought a new party dress and shoes so it will be fun to get all dressed up.

Have a great evening all,
Colleen

Rock Star

Hi all,

My Christmas cards are all signed, sealed, stamped and sent. Now I'm concentrating on end of December birthdays. This card was made for a teen boy who turns 14 a few days after  Christmas. He is into all things music and also plays bass and guitar. I think he'll like this one.

The sketch is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 174. I turned it on it's side to accommodate the tall image. Other than that, I followed the sketch pretty literally. The papers are MME Lime Twist. I sponged the edges with some TH black distress ink. The center panel is dry embossed with the TE Music Impressions Plate. The guitar player and the sentiment are wet embossed.

Supplies
Stamps: You're My Hero set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Not Quite Navy, Black, and Crumb Cake card stock and My Mind's Eye Lime Twist patterned paper
Ink: SU craft black, craft Not Quite Navy and Tim Holtz Black Distress ink
Other: SU clear embossing powder, TE Music Impression Plate, Die-namics Notched Border die, metallic brads, SU corner punch, the Big Shot and dimensionals.

Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday evening all,

Later this evening I will be addressing my holiday cards. I think I have enough made. Now I have to get some birthday cards done. I have several birthdays between now and the end of the year that I need to make cards for. On that note, I've gotten the first one completed.

This beautiful stamp is from Taylored Expressions. I colored it with Copics then cut it out with the Nestie. I left the die on and sponged the white area with some SU blue ink. The bow is seam binding just looped several times and scrunched together with the SU brad. I tied a stamped, TE tiny tag around the center of the bow.

The layout is an older Sweet Sunday sketch.

Supplies
Stamps: Hydrangea Bouquet set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Perfect Plumb card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock, and ?? patterned papers. (I didn't label these papers so no idea what they are. They are from an Easter KI kit from several years ago)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black,  Copics, SU Bashful blue
Other: SU seam binding, SU brad, Queen and Co pearls, Spellbinders die, Fiskars corner rounder punch, TE Mini Tags dies, SU linen thread, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Thanks for checking in today,
Colleen

Rejoice

Happy Hump Day stampers,

Yes, I have another Christmas card. I hope you don't mind. I for one love looking at all of the Christmas cards around blogland this time of year. My card today uses Jen's Deconstructed Sketch 79 layout. Love the look of this sketch and I think it can be made to look a little different with each use. I'm saving this one to use again!

The Midnight Muse and silver colors come from a past Dynamic Duos color combination. I didn't get the chance to play along when it ran, so used it here. The patterned papers are not really Christmas papers, but work well with the image.

This is an SU only card.

Supplies
Stamps: Rejoicing With You set by Stampin' Up
Paper: SU Midnight Muse, Silver Glimmer Paper, and Very Vanilla card stock and SU DSP
Ink: SU Midnight Muse classic ink pad and marker
Other: SU 1 1/4" scalloped circle, 3/4" and 1" circle punches, SU corner rounder punch, SU Midnight Muse ribbon, SU rhinestone, sewing machine

Have a great evening and thanks for looking in,

Colleen

Snow Day

Hi fellow stampers,

I've been unable to do any blogging for a couple weeks again. Mostly because we took a trip to Portland, OR for Thanksgiving week to visit my sister's family. We had a great time!

Today I have two cards for you. The first uses Karen's SSSC 173 layout and a PI cutie. The second uses Karen's SSSC #172 layout for a birthday for a friend who loves Hawaii.

Here is the card using this weeks sketch:

The color scheme of Certainly Celery and Real Red comes the Dynamic Duos 31.

I changed the circle to an oval, used several Die-namics dies and an SU embossing folder. Her hat and coat are paper pieced. The trim on her hat and boots are filled in with a white gel pen. The rest of her is colored with Copics. The real red button sits on top of a wood veneer snowflake. The snowballs are covered with Stickles to make them icy.

Here is card number 2:

I got some cool burlap 12 x 12 papers from Paper Source a few weeks ago. I used one of them to make the four squares to go along with the Hawaiian theme for this Birthday card. The patterned paper is retired SU DSP.

Supplies
Card 1:
Stamps: Pure Innocence Snow Day by My Favorite Things
Paper: SU Certainly Celery and Real Red card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock, Merry & Bright by Carta Bella patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copics, and SU Real Red
Other: Die-namics Fishtail Stax and Oval Doily dies, SU embossing folder, SU button, Studio Calico wood veneer snowflakes, Kaiser red pearls, Stickles, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Card 2:
Stamps: Tropical Party set by Stampin' Up
Paper: SU Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White card stock, burlap paper, and SU Island Oasis DSP
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU chocolate chip, SU Rose Red, and Copics
Other: sewing machine, SU rhinestones, Stickles and dimensionals
