Enjoy The Ride

Hi and good morning,

I hope the Easter Bunny brought you something yummy!

I'm back in my craft room this morning and feeling very productive. Two cards made already! Today's share is one that I made for the Sweet Sunday Sketch 181. I pulled out a TE set that I hadn't used in quite awhile thinking it would work to make a nice spring-time card. (The weather here in San Diego has been SO great the last few days with sunny skies and mild sea breezes that I'm definitely in a spring like mood.)

After choosing my stamps, I remembered that I had gotten a 6X6 pad that had bicycle papers. Also in the same pad is this states paper. Thought it made a nice combination and that it worked perfectly for the background on my card. I colored the bicycle with Copics - YR07, YR08, YR09, C5, C7, Y26, Y28, Y18, BG72, BG75- and drew in the road with E34 and E35. The sentiment is stamped in SU Pumpkin Pie and punched with the SU medium oval punch. The flag is cut from another sheet from the same paper pack. I added the Queen and Co. green pearls as embellishments.

Here is the inside:

I kept this pretty simple, just adding the leftover patterned paper from the states sheet and stamped the sentiment at the bottom and added the smallest green pearls.

Supplies
Stamps: Bikes and Trikes set by Taylored Expressiosn
Papers: SU Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White card stock and Studio Calico "Here & There" patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU Pumpkin Pie and Copics
Other: SU medium oval Punch, Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX die, Queen and Co green pearls, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Have a wonderful and fun Easter. Thanks for coming by,
Colleen

Happy Easter - Ears To You

Hi and Happy Easter tomorrow,

Long time no post for me! Not much stamping either. I took a break from it all for a couple weeks, but now I'm finding that I'm ready to get back to it. I started with this Easter card that I made for friends yesterday. We were invited over for dinner last night. Had some wonderful grilled scallop and fish tacos. YUMMY!

For my card, I started with Jen's Deconstructed sketch 95. I bought some burlap and grass paper from Paper Source a few months ago and decided I would go with a "natural" look. Not too "spring like" but I do like the way it turned out.

Supplies
Stamps: Ears To You, Stampin' Up single stamp
Paper: SU Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card stock, burlap and grass papers from The Paper Source store
Ink: SU Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand classic ink pads
Other: SU die, SU brads, SU ribbon, Fiskars corner rounder, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Again, a very Happy Easter to all. Thanks for looking,
Colleen

Happy Birthday

Happy Friday!

As you read this, I'm flying home to San Diego from Colorado. I'm sure I'm ready to be going home after being away for work this week.

Today's card I made last Sunday and it's my mom's birthday card. I got the inspiration from an old Paper Crafts magazine. The card shape is different, the stamps are different, the embellishments are different. What's the same is how the main image floats over the edge of the circle. That placement is what caught my eye when I saw the original card.

The flowers are from Taylored Expressions, one of the mini sets called Mixed Blooms. Fun, fun, fun to color with Copics as I did here. Many Copics! I made the paper bow from scratch. (I think I may have to  invest in one of the MFT bow dies) I added the button to the center because I think this card has that  "homey/country" feeling and a button just seemed to work.

When I showed this card to my DSO, he exclaimed "How Yaya-ish!"LOL. I said that's good because it's for a Grandmother, my mother. It was just funny.

Supplies

Stamps: Mixed Blooms from Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU Perfect Plum and Pale Plum card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock, and My Minds Eye patterned paper
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU Perfect Plum and Copics

Other: Sizzix Birds and Vines embossing folder, classic circle Nesties, SU linen thread, Fiskars corner rounder, TE button, the Big Shot, and dimensionals.

Have a fab weekend all and thanks for looking,
Colleen

You're Picture Perfect

Hi again,

Today's card is made using the MFTGUESTDT sketch for March. I made it for the new Recipe Swap challenge at Linda's Catered Crop blog. The challenge is called Framed. I thought this cute little PI girl in the picture frame would fit.

My PI girl is stamped on X-Press It Blending card stock and colored with Copics. Her dress and boots are paper pieced. The solid back ground piece was dry embossed with the new SU clouds EF. Some stitching helps to finish the look.

Supplies
Stamps: Pure Innocence Picture Perfect set by My Favorite Things
Paper: SU Pale Plum and Whisper White card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock, and Suga Pop by  Kaiser Crafts patterned papers
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Copics
Other: Classic circle Nesties, SU Clouds embossing folder, green rhinestones, white pearl, sewing machine, the Big Shot, and dimensionals.

Thanks all,
Colleen

Hello

Hi and Happy Tuesday,

Here's my card for Karen G.'s Sweet Sunday Sketch #179. I used a cute, new to me, set from Paper Smooches. I was in a spring mood and went with some bright colors.

The little bee and butterfly are stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored with Copics. I popped the bee up on dimensionals then coated his wings with yellow Stickles. I replaced the circle with the hexagons from MFT.

Supplies
Stamps: Flap Happy set by Paper Smooches
Paper: TE bright yellow and choice snow white card stock and Fresh Goods by Pebbles patterned paper
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU Night of Navy and Copics
Other: Die-namics hexagon STAX dies, yellow Stickles, SU red ribbon, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Thanks for looking today,

Mimi In Paris - Ooo la la

Hi again,
Thought I'd do one more post tonight. I made this card for Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #91 late this afternoon. I bought some new stamps last week and one of the sets was this Penny Black set called Mimi in Paris. The images are super cute and fun to color.

During the same shopping trip I picked up a new 6x6" paper pack from Kaiser Crafts. It's got some bright, springy patterns. This tree back ground with the bright colors made me think "Paris In the Spring".

I stamped Mimi, her little poodle and the tower on TE choice buttercream card stock. Mimi and her poodle are colored with Copics.

Supplies
Stamps: Mimi In Paris set by Penny Black
Paper: SU blue (retired), TE choice buttercream card stocks and Suga Pop by Kaiser Craft patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU soft suede, Copics
Other: Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX dies, sewing machine, the Big Shot and dimensionals

I must go pack now. Thanks all for coming by,
Colleen

Sew Happy

Hi,

A new Paper Players challenge starts today, and it's brought to us by LeAnn. She has a sewing theme going for us to have fun with. I started by pulling out some old patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket called Material Girl. From there, I went looking for a sketch, and lastly, my stamps. I managed to keep it all on track with the sewing theme. I even added stitching on the "seams." My card is somewhat CAS (other than the layers of paper) and I rather like the way it turned out. The sketch is the current Freshly Made sketch #75.

Supplies
Stamps: Sew Suite set by Stampin' Up and Sew Happy set by Taylored Expressions
Paper: SU very vanilla and poppy parade card stock and Material Girl by Cosmo Cricket patterned papers
Ink: SU poppy parade and Memento tuxedo black
Other: Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX dies, sewing machine, silver gel pen, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

I'm off to Colorado Springs again tomorrow for the week. Should be the end of the project. Looks like I'll be lucky in the weather department. The Weather Channel has sunny days all week with temps in the 50s. Can't beat that!

Have a wonderful week all, and thanks for coming by,
Colleen

Hoppy Easter

Ah, Friday afternoon. I finished my office work early and now I get to do some stamping. But first, I wanted to blog this card that I made last night. I didn't even start it until after 10 pm, but it went together pretty fast. (I'm usually a fairly slow stamper).

While on a lunch break this week, I went by a local paper crafting store and found some new patterned papers by Kaiser Craft. They are very "springy" and they are perfect for this Easter card.

The image is colored with Copics. As I was coloring away, my marker leaked a blob of ink right under her face. I tried to push it back with colorless blender, but I never seem to get good results. I decided to leave well enough alone. I don't think that whoever gets this card will mind. The egg is paper pieced with the background paper. FYI-I love this week's MFTWSC113 sketch!

Supplies
Stamps: Pure Innocence Bunny Ears set by My Favorite Things
Paper: SU card stock, X-Press It Blending card stock and KaiserCraft Suga Pop patterned papers
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU pink and Copics, E50, E01, E11, E93, E000, R01, R11, R12, YG03, YG93, YG95
Other: Die-namics Hexagon STAX and Traditional Tags STAX dies, Crystal Stickles, TE Impressions Plate, Michaels ribbon, heart brad, the Big Shot, and dimensionals

Have a wonderful weekend all and thanks for looking in,
Colleen
