Giddy Up, Cowgirl

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Paper Players post. Today Laurie is our hostess with a fun theme challenge for us.

I actually have several stamps that I could have used for this one. My step father was a complete rodeo fan, so every year I would buy some kind of horse/cowboy related stamp to make his birthday card with. Since he passed several years ago, my western themed stamps haven't seen any ink, so this was a fun challenge for me. My card is more for a cowgirl instead of a cowboy, though.

There are some really high end and expensive cowboy boots out there. Have you heard of the brand Lucchese? I went to their website for some color inspiration to create my card.

The boots are stamped in Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics. They are cut out with a Die-namics zig-zag circle die which I layered onto squares cut out with a Die-namics double stitched square die. All in all, a pretty simple card design. I added the bling because, after all, what's a western card without some rhinestones?

Here are the boots from the Lucchese website that I used for my color inspiration. These puppies sale for a mere $3000.00.

Here are the links to the other design team's blogs. I know they have some fabulous, fun cards to share with you.

  5. Fabulous take on your inspiration boots, Colleen. Those colors are fabulous and you've captured them perfectly. That's a lot easier than parting with 3K for the real deal. Great layout and details too...love it!
